Welcome! I am an LCSW with 29+ years experience specializing in trauma. I have been in private practice for 21 years and I worked in residential treatment and inpatient psychiatric hospitals with adolescents prior to this. I am licensed in CO, WA, OR and NY.
Through 20 years on staff at the University of Colorado-Boulder CAPS before transitioning to private practice, I have extensive experience in providing psychotherapy services to graduate and undergraduate students presenting with a wide range of mental health concerns. I specialize in treating anxiety disorders such as OCD and trauma as well as additional concerns from sleep problems to self-acceptance and managing stress. I am trained in evidence-based approaches such as ERP, IFS, ACT and EMDR, with a style that is warm, interactive, collaborative and relational. I provide online therapy via a secure videoconferencing platform. I welcome the opportunity to connect and see if I am the right therapist to help you thrive in your personal and academic journeys.
e therapy is a journey to talk alongside you. Though I might be considered the "expert" in the areas in which you're looking for help, I also believe that you are the expert on you. I have a very collaborative and interpersonal style and though I use various empirically supported interventions to enhance with coping, the relationship between me and you is the most important thing. Change and growth are the goals of therapy. Change is a very subjective word, and it completely depends on where you are in your life when you come into therapy. I believe in working with the client together to form goals and a treatment plan, knowing that the plan will change along the way as the client experiences growth and change. Therapy is a proactive journey on the part of both client and therapist; sustainable and meaningful change stems from a combination of having a helpful guide, a sense of willingness, shared insight and working towards specific goals.

We are starving to discover the truth, to show the world who we really are, and we need to have our truth held with compassion. We all want to experience being fully seen. We want to feel connected to others. Sadly, many of us don’t often experience being seen in a non-judgmental light. My strength as a therapist is in my capacity to recognize your preciousness and your capacity for wholeness, while helping you to align with your truth. I work with individuals, couples, families, children, adolescents, and groups to heal past wounds and evolve out of patterns of self-sabotage. Throughout our work I will support you in cultivating self-compassion, resilience and empowerment. I focus on the impact of trauma, and a variety of disorders including anxiety, depression, insomnia, personality disorders, eating disorders and chronic pain issues. Within a trusting therapeutic relationship, my clients and I co-create a foundation which allows clients to hone into their intuition, improve their relationships, decrease emotional suffering, and increase their overall joy. I use a mindfulness-body-centered approach, integrating many modalities, cultural responsiveness and evidenced-based research.

As a licensed MFT and a Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist (CSAT) trained in Trauma Resilience (TRM), I am absolutely passionate about helping those impacted by sexual integrity issues. I work with addicts and their partners using individual, couple, and group therapy modalities. I compassionately work to guide addicts through isolating and shame-filled experiences. My role is to help reduce this shame and systematically get to the root of the addictive and compulsive behaviors that have led to intimacy disorder issues. As a Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist (CSAT), I hold extensive expertise in treating those affected by compulsive sexual behavior having gone through my own recovery journey from sex, porn, and relationship addiction. I am trained in the 30-Task Recovery model (group therapy), PACT Couples therapy model, and Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM) for individuals.

I utilize a variety of clinical interventions including play, art, movement, and talk therapy. I take a holistic view when working with any individual or family, teaching and emphasizing the intersection between mind, body, society, resources, and relationships. I am trained in various therapeutic modalities including: Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT), Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). Meaning-Making & Life Transitions | Anxiety, Grief, and Healing There are times in life when the questions feel too big: Why does everything feel so disconnected from what I imagined? How do I keep moving forward when I’m not sure where to go? If you’ve built a life that looks good on the outside but feels off on the inside, you’re not alone. Maybe you’ve spent years pushing forward, staying busy, and doing what’s expected—only to find yourself feeling restless, anxious, or disconnected from what once drove you. Or maybe something big has shifted—grief, a transition, an unexpected change—and suddenly, the certainty you once relied on isn’t there anymore. I understand this because I’ve lived it. Losing both of my parents during some of the most formative years of my life left me grappling with a depth of grief and confusion I wasn’t prepared for. In my late teens and early adulthood, I had to figure out how to keep going while everything around me was shifting. It was a messy, painful journey that took me to the darkest corners of myself, forcing me to confront emotions I hadn’t even realized I was carrying. And through it, I eventually learned that healing doesn’t come from pushing through or pretending to be okay. It comes from creating space for what’s real—sitting with it, learning from it, and finding a way forward, even when it feels impossible. My approach is grounded in the belief that healing isn’t about fixing what’s “broken,” but about understanding yourself in new ways. It’s about reconnecting with who you truly are, even when life has pulled you off course. In my practice, I offer a space for you to process what’s beneath the surface—without pressure, without judgment. Whether you’re navigating grief, dealing with anxiety, or facing a life transition that’s left you questioning everything, therapy can help you make sense of it. Healing with me isn’t about quick fixes; it’s about deep exploration, vulnerability, and learning how to reconnect with yourself and what truly matters to you. If any of this resonates, I’m here to walk with you through it—helping you rediscover clarity, confidence, and the courage to move forward in a way that feels right for you. Gabrielle Samo, MA, LPCC, earned her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Regis University and understands that navigating life’s challenges can feel overwhelming. Her approach combines practical tools to help make sense of things (because sometimes we need a map) with the space to sit with what’s hard (because not everything can—or should—be fixed right away). Her work is informed by experience supporting individuals with chronic and terminal illnesses, as well as years of hospice volunteer work. Gabrielle Samo is supervised by Michelle Fagan, LPC #0016337.
These days, students face difficult decisions and life situations and must navigate complicated futures and relationships. I specialize in working with young people who are struggling with these things and want to find better ways to cope. Frequently, I see students who are good at solving complex problems. On the other side of this advantage, they sometimes suffer from perfectionism, anxiety, depression, or relationship problems. When addressed, these conditions can be alleviated. I provide an easy space to talk together about the things that you're up against -- and you'll not be alone with it. Your/our work in this way will alleviate distress, practically and emotionally. I no longer accept insurance, so our work together is completely private. If any of this resonates, I'd be happy to chat and see what's possible. All best wishes in every arena! Anna

I approach therapy with a client-centered framework to let you determine what path your journey is taking. We will create a relationship together where I can be your mirror and reflect your innate wisdom that life's stress and trauma has obscured. Lasting change is created through this empowerment that gives you the strength and awareness to deepen personal resilience. I blend a model of evidence-based therapeutic techniques with non-traditional spiritual knowledge and practices like mindfulness. Through compassion, present-moment focus, and somatic guidance, I offer support unique to what you need for your individual situation. I specialized in working with those with chronic pain, illness, and health concerns, but also have particular attunement to those with trauma and PTSD. I offer an integrative, mind-body approach which utilizes methods like ACT, MBSR, MBCT, and DBT. Together we can tailor an environment of safety and stability where you can start your healing and growth.
