People seek therapy for many reasons, to make changes or process difficult experiences. My goal is to help you better understand yourself and it is essential to me that you feel heard and accepted in our work. Then we can explore together the changes you want to make in your life and how I can support you to enact those changes. You are the expert in your life and I want to help you move in a direction that feels best for you. I honor the range of identities (gender, ethnicity, sexuality, etc.) and strengths that you bring to therapy. My approach to therapy is collaborative, warm, and active. I enjoy working with a variety of concerns, but most often work with food and body image concerns, gender identity development, anxiety, issues facing college students, trauma, depression and relationship issues. I also provide gender affirming therapy and gender confirmation support letters. Therapy tends to be most successful when clients feel empowered to ask questions and share feedback. I offer a free phone consultation to see if I would be a good fit for your needs. I look forward to supporting you in your personal exploration and growth.
As a former CAPS psychologist, I have extensive experience working with graduate and undergraduate students at several university counseling centers. My specialty areas include trauma/PTSD, family and relationship issues, self-esteem, social identity concerns, and identity exploration. I also treat anxiety and depression. I'm a feminist therapist, working from an integrative approach, and I offer both short term and longer term therapy options. For students struggling with trauma histories, I also provide EMDR and IFS informed therapy. I have a direct and transparent communication style and enjoy helping clients who are looking to better understand themselves, their identities, and their relationships. I am PSYPACT credentialed, so I can continue to see you virtually when you are traveling out of state (if you are in one of the 42 PSYPACT states). *Current openings for in person and online sessions*

My practice integrates bodywork with talk therapy. After fifteen years as a Structural Integration practitioner, I trained at Naropa in somatic psychotherapy — so sessions can include hands-on work, movement, breath, and conversation, depending on what's needed. The people I work best with tend to be thoughtful and somewhat introspective. They often sense that talking alone hasn't moved things — that something is held in the body, in patterns of tension, posture, or reactivity. Some arrive with chronic physical complaints alongside emotional ones. Others come stuck in relationships, identity questions, or grief that won't shift. You don't need any background in this work to start. We begin with what you're actually noticing — in your body, your mood, your day — and follow it from there.
I see therapy as such a gift to oneself when trying to make sense of one's identity, relationships, and purpose in this world. My clinical focus is on helping people cope with depression, anxiety, and stress during life transitions to remind my clients of their strengths and how these strengths can help them not only cope, but also celebrate these new chapters in their lives. I have extensive experience in health related issues, acculturation stressors, and on parenting stressors. I strive to create a space of safety that helps my clients feel heard and understood. I am bilingual (Spanish) and bicultural (Ecuadorian descent). I use an interpersonal approach to help people explore how their roles in their relationships throughout their lives have impacted their identities, thought patterns, and abilities to have their needs met throughout their lives. I use an eclectic approach including interpersonal therapy, aspects of CBT, ACT, EDMR, and EFT.
My practice offers a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can feel seen, heard and empowered in your healing process. I work best with individuals who are curious, self-aware and open to engaging in deep therapeutic work. Together, we can explore what has shaped your experiences while building tools you can carry into your daily life. Please see website link for full practice details! I look forward to hearing from you.
