Therapists for college students near Georgia State University
I offer individual therapy for personal growth and relationships. My practice focuses on creating a comfortable, welcoming, and grounded atmosphere for clients to grow and find meaning. My office is not a typical stuffy doctor's office experience. I believe in showing people a lot of love and lending them a compassionate ear. I look for the positive and lean more toward growth and empowerment instead of disorders. My focus is to help people live well and overcome their obstacles. Everyone deserves to find meaning and joy in their lives.
You don't have to keep holding it all together-going through the motions on your own, guessing what normal is, not knowing anything better. You're working hard to build a life that looks good on paper-education, career, independence, maybe even a relationship or side hustle. But, underneath the surface, you're exhausted. The anxiety won't let up. Your inner critic never takes a day off. And, no matter how much you achieve, it never feels like enough. If you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from who you really are, you're in the right place. I work with women and LGBTQ+ individuals who are ready to understand the why behind their patterns and start healing at the root. Together, we'll create a space where your story is heard, your pain is validated, and your healing becomes possible. You might find yourself: -Overthinking every decision and replaying conversations in your head -Struggling with low self-esteem, perfectionism, or people pleasing -Feeling anxious in your relationships, yet afraid to be truly seen -Living with persistent sadness, numbness, or self-doubt -Wondering if what happened in your past is still affecting your present If this resonates, therapy can help. I offer individual counseling to support you in: -Understanding how childhood trauma has shaped your beliefs and behaviors -Learning to soothe your nervous system and respond versus react -Setting boundaries without guilt -Building emotional resilience and self worth -Exploring your identity outside of old roles and expectations It's okay to ask for help. You're not supposed to do this alone. Starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially if you're used to being the strong one. But, healing doesn't mean falling apart-it means letting yourself grow into someone who feels whole. Here's how to begin: 1. Schedule a free consultation - A 15-minute phone call to see if we're a good fit. 2. Start therapy - We'll meet weekly (in person or virtually) to explore your story and begin the work of healing. 3. Reclaim your life - Bit by bit, you'll begin to feel more grounded, self-compassionate, and connected to who you truly are. If you have questions at any point, you're welcome to reach out. I'm here to support you in taking this first step.

Hi! My name is Rachel Devery and I work with students who struggle with OCD, general anxiety, social anxiety, performance anxiety, and trauma/PTSD. Often anxieties and trauma leads to feeling stuck, hopeless or beyond repair. We can work together to build hope and find peace. Dawn utilizes a variety of therapy modalities including: EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing), EFIT (Emotion Focused Individual Therapy) IFS (Internal Family Systems)-informed/DNMS (Developmental Needs Meeting Strategy), Mindful Self Compassion and Somatic practices. She comes from a strengths-based, person-centered perspective and will collaborate with you to create a treatment plan that honors all aspects of your identity. Just like many other life transitions, the college and university experience can bring a mix of excitement and uncertainty. College students often face challenges with decision-making, adjusting to new environments, socializing, and managing increased responsibilities. These struggles can contribute to heightened anxiety, loneliness, and symptoms of depression, making it difficult to navigate this pivotal time in life. College-related anxiety can show up in many forms, ranging from mild, everyday stress to more extreme fears. The uncertainty of the future and what happens after college can trigger deep worries, even if those concerns aren’t based on personal experiences. You’re not alone—many students share these feelings as they face the unknown. As an anxiety therapist for college students, I take a unique approach to therapy. I work with you to uncover the root causes of your anxiety, and together, we create a treatment plan that suits your needs, whether you’re seeking short-term relief or long-term support. With an integrative approach that considers both mental and physical health, I help college students address their psychological struggles from every angle. Therapy is a collaborative process, where we’ll identify your specific concerns and develop personalized coping skills and techniques to guide you through these challenging times. Together, we’ll navigate your journey to mental wellness and help you build the resilience you need to thrive.
