I am a board-certified psychiatrist and Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. For me, being a physician is more than a profession—it is a vocation to help indviduals flourish. My practice is devoted to students and young adults seeking thoughtful, individualized psychiatric care that extends beyond symptom relief. I provide comprehensive evaluations that consider medical, nutritional, lifestyle, and psychological factors—including laboratory testing when clinically appropriate—to identify the contributors to emotional and cognitive health. I also specialize in evidence-based de-prescribing for patients who wish to reduce or discontinue psychiatric medications for anxiety, attention difficulties, or substance use disorders. My approach is guided by precision, humility, and restraint: using the least intensive intervention necessary while drawing upon the full breadth of evidence-based medicine. Depending on each patient's needs and goals, I integrate psychotherapy, nutrition, lifestyle medicine, exercise, targeted supplementation, and, when appropriate, carefully selected medications into a personalized treatment plan. In addition to my clinical work, I have presented internationally on psychiatric deprescribing and medical ethics. My work has been recognized with awards from the American Psychiatric Association, the International Association for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Allied Professions, the American Psychoanalytic Association, and other leading professional organizations. I am the Founder & Medical Director of Verigrate Health. I am licensed to serve patients in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Lousiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, Washington, D.C., and Wisconsin.

Regret, self-criticism, guilt and shame are far too often root causes of the depression and anxiety plaguing our minds. Sometimes we don’t even realize these feelings until we examine our thoughts more carefully. My goal in talk therapy is to help you recognize how thoughts and emotions impact your behaviors so we can break unhealthy patterns and find strategies that work best for you. I work to create a casual, stress-free environment where you can truly be yourself, feel understood, and validated. Using empathy and a conversational style, I bring knowledge, experience, and most importantly, a fresh perspective into the (virtual) therapy room. We will work together to build upon your strengths, and I will strive to help you find insight and practical solutions to implement into your daily life to find a path forward and heal. I offer telehealth video therapy for clients in Iowa, Illinois and Florida. I work with adults and couples aged 18+ with issues including anxiety, depression, women’s issues, empowerment, work stress, improving communication, interpersonal and relationship issues, life transitions, aging, living chronic illness, spiritual growth, and trauma.

As a licensed psychologist, I specialize in delivering empathic, client-centered mental health care for individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, and trauma. As a member of both the BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities, I bring a unique lived perspective to my work and am deeply committed to providing culturally sensitive, affirming, and evidence-based care that is tailored to your individual needs and goals. I draw on a range of evidence-based approaches in my work, including Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for trauma. I also integrate cognitive-behavioral and dialectical behavior strategies to help individuals build effective coping skills, manage distress, and navigate life’s challenges more confidently. Personally, I am a proud pet parent and enjoy spending time with my chosen family and friends. Through compassion and support, I strive to empower my clients to cultivate resilience, self-awareness, and autonomy. My objective is to equip individuals with the tools needed to navigate their personal journeys with confidence. Recognizing that each person comes from a unique background with varied needs, I prioritize a collaborative therapeutic process tailored to your specific circumstances. I am committed to creating a safe, judgment-free environment where questions and feedback are always welcome. While therapists are often seen as “experts,” I firmly believe that you are the expert of your own life. With over a decade of experience in the mental health field, I specialize in working with children aged 11+, teens, college students, emerging adults, and adults from diverse backgrounds. I take an eclectic approach, integrating modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Art Therapy, Bibliotherapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Practices to help you achieve your goals. Commonly, I support individuals experiencing anxiety, ADHD, low self-esteem, perfectionism, life transitions, and challenges related to college or emerging adulthood. I also work with clients to manage stress, build coping skills, address women’s issues, and explore the impact of being a child or an adult child of an alcoholic or dysfunctional family (ACOA) and (COA). Alongside my clients, I help identify areas requiring focus, set meaningful goals, and develop skills to foster a sustainable holistic approach to long-term emotional well-being. I am dedicated to helping individuals confront life’s challenges with courage and will always meet them where they are on their personal wellness journey.

Hi, I’m April! I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Illinois and work with clients statewide via telehealth. Often the clients I see are adults that are working through life transition concerns, anxiety, self-esteem, trauma, depression, relationship concerns, grief, and work stress. I have experience working with a wide range of populations and in therapeutic settings treating a variety of mental health concerns. I would describe my communication style as welcoming, calm, and encouraging. I focus on creating a safe, non-judgmental, and empowering space for clients to share their experiences and thoughts in session. I want my clients to feel comfortable being their authentic selves as I believe this is an important element of our work together. Sessions often look like a collaborative effort to assist clients with their goals. I work alongside clients to identify goals that they believe are the most important for them to achieve during our time together. This starts with us building trust and rapport with one another in our sessions so that we can create a strong team environment to assist with goal achievement. I also pride myself on being flexible as I understand goals can shift as clients begin exploring other areas of their lives in session. Please visit my website for additional information on session cost, accepted insurance plans or to schedule a therapy appointment.

Megan Rosecrans Psy.D. LCP received her doctoral degree from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology with a concentration in Health Psychology. Dr. Rosecrans consults with bariatric surgical teams to provide psychological support for patients both pre and post surgery. Dr. Rosecrans specializes in pre-surgical bariatric assessment and spinal stimulator evaluations. Additionally, Dr. Rosecrans offers biofeedback and hypnotherapy treatment options as part of a comprehensive treatment strategy. Dr. Rosecrans uses empirically-supported treatments and a collaborative, directive, goal-oriented, supportive, approach for individual therapy. A customized treatment strategy is designed for the specific needs of each patient. Dr. Rosecrans’ Approach to Therapy: Therapy can be scary as we are knowingly going to talk about topics that are uncomfortable. It takes strength to recognize and admit we need help, and then to open up about the discomfort we feel. Therapy is a safe space to explore these uncomfortable emotions, thoughts, behaviors, pasts, and relationships without judgement, and feeling like you are being heard. Therapy is designed to help you learn new ways to approach difficult experiences and learn tools to aid in coping with the discomfort you feel. It is important for me to make therapy a safe and collaborative process. You are your own expert in life, and I am here to help you in finding the right tools that will work for you. I use a supportive, directive, problem-solving style, applying empirically supported techniques. I approach treatment using the biopsychosocial model and Existential therapies, which allows us to explore the interaction between varying aspects of our lives and how they affect our mental health. A better understanding of ourselves helps promote the change we strive for.

I believe that each person has the wisdom and knowledge within them to be able to heal and grow themselves but that intuition can be difficult to access due to our upbringings, beliefs, structural expectations, etc. I am honored to join with clients on their growth journey and provide perspective and safety along the way. I welcome clients from all walks of life and work primarily with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship issues, self exploration, and navigating the many transitions of life. I take an eclectic approach that utilizes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy and Psychedelic Integration and also value the wisdom and significance of spirituality, mindfulness, somatics, ancestral connection, connection with nature and other non western conceptualizations of growth and healing. I foster a inclusive, nonjudgmental and affirming approach that does not shy away from difficult emotions. This is a collaborative relationship where we work together and rely on your inner wisdom to pursue growth at a pace that is healthy for you. If this resonates with you, I look forward to connecting with you and exploring the work we can do together.

The daily grind of work, family, friends, and life can be so demanding. Trying to juggle and balance it all at once. It can be too much pressure. You don't have to do it all, and certainly not alone. When feeling overwhelmed and stressed out, therapy can provide a space to have time to focus on you: to be heard, get feedback, and process through the hard stuff that's going on in your life. I enjoy practicing with individuals, couples, and familes. I am specialized in trauma, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, and couples. I am trained and certified in EMDR and perinatal. I have extensive experience working with trauma recovery, survivors of abuse, and relationship and intimacy difficulties. As a working mom myself, with over 17 years of clinical experience, I take a direct and compassionate approach to therapy that allows for interactive dialogue and feedback to identify things that are working, and incorporate them into places that don’t seem to be working so well. We collaborate to create treatment goals, identify barriers, and create a plan.

Are you tired of overthinking everything—relationships, school, work, finances, and what’s coming next in life? Do you find yourself always thinking ahead, planning details, and trying to stay on top of everything… to the point that it feels exhausting? Maybe your mind rarely slows down. You replay conversations, overanalyze decisions, and put pressure on yourself to do things the “right” way. You may find yourself feeling anxious about the future or wondering whether you’re somehow falling behind. Internally, it can feel exhausting to always be this “on.” If any of this sounds familiar, you’re not alone. Many highly capable people feel overwhelmed by the pressure to keep it all together while quietly struggling with anxiety, perfectionism, and emotional exhaustion. And often, it’s not simply a time management issue—it’s the mental and emotional load of carrying too much for too long. I specialize in helping individuals manage overthinking, overwhelm, anxiety, and perfectionism. Many of my clients are thoughtful, self-aware, and driven, but feel mentally stretched and unable to fully enjoy where they are in life. Therapy with me is collaborative, supportive, and grounded. Together, we’ll work to untangle anxious thought patterns, quiet the constant pressure you place on yourself, and create more space for clarity, confidence, and ease—without lowering your standards or stepping away from what matters most to you. You do not need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. Most of the people I work with reach out while they’re still trying to make sense of what they’re experiencing—they just know they’re tired of feeling constantly “on” or stuck in cycles of pressure and overthinking. Please reach out today to start your care. I’m happy to answer any initial questions and help you determine whether we’d be a good fit. I look forward to connecting with you and supporting you in feeling more grounded, more present, and more like yourself again—so life can start to feel a little lighter.
