Therapists for college students near 02141
Hi there! I'm Angelina. My goal is to create a safe and caring space where clients can explore their experiences and tap into their inner resilience. I work collaboratively with clients, respecting their expertise about their own lives. My focus lies in supporting women, young adults, and first responders as they navigate significant life transitions and overcome challenges such as life transitions, intimate partner/sexual violence, reproductive health challenges, and vicarious trauma. I strive to create an inclusive therapy environment that recognizes the diverse identities and individual needs of my clients. My aim is to not only support healing, but also to foster empowerment, resilience, and hope.
Imagine actually ENJOYING therapy. Imagine looking forward to therapy each week because your therapist "gets" you and works with you in a down-to-earth way to address your goals. Since therapy is an intense process that tackles intense issues, we believe it should also include authenticity (on our part), humor, and flexibility. We love working with college students and are energetic, creative, and hands-on. We'll work together to design a personalized approach to address your specific goals. Our therapists specialize in a range of issues, including depression, anxiety, life transitions, relationship challenges, LGBTQ+ identities, and health challenges.
Psychological suffering exists on different levels and manifests in different ways, in psyche, body, interpersonally, socially, both consciously and unconsciously. Thankfully, there are many ways to address psychological struggle, ranging from working with symptoms that are consciously experienced to the exploration of underlying non-conscious dynamics, many of which originate during the early years of one's life and impact one's relationship with self and others. My work is social justice-informed and incorporates an understanding of how larger socio-political systems impact our lives. Facilitating empowerment is key in my work. I provide a safe space and relationship in which to listen deeply, to your thoughts, feelings, emotions, memories, fantasies, and bodily experience. By learning to listen in new ways, we expand our capacity to hold more, respond with greater flexibility, clarity and ease, develop presence and compassion, and become empowered to make positive changes. I have advanced training in psychodynamic psychotherapy, somatic psychotherapy, mindfulness and Internal Family Systems. I work with adolescents, adults, and couples, and I specialize in a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, complex trauma, issues around individuation, existential questioning, embodiment difficulties, and relationship challenges.

We work collaboratively with our clients on identifying changes they want to see in their lives and taking steps towards those changes. Do you find you struggle with self confidence? Do you often feel dysphoric about your gender? Our team can help.
I am passionate about supporting clients in overcoming the many challenges of life through a process of developing self-compassion, identifying and building on strengths, and learning new approaches to achieve a sense of well-being and peace. I have experience working with individuals dealing with challenges of anxiety, depression, self-esteem, life transitions, social and communication challenges, gender and sexual identity, polyamory, and neurodivergence. My work is fueled by my sincere belief that everyone is doing the best they can with the tools they've got. I use a collaborative approach that integrates a person's intrinsic wisdom and lived experience with my clinical background so that together we can come up with new ideas, perspectives, and strategies. I help my clients acquire skills in reading themselves and learning how to re-adjust if things stray off-course. I hope to help clients foster self-compassion and acceptance. It is an honor to bear witness to someone else's story. I use a gentle, direct, and nonjudgmental approach involving reflection, questions, and humor. I work to help clients gain new understanding of old narratives. This may involve goal-setting, exploration of personal values, or collaboration for accountability. I recognize and celebrate the diversity of human experience including gender expression and neurodiversity. It's important to me to help you move toward the life that feels most meaningful to you.

I draw on a variety of evidence-based interventions to tailor my approach to each client's individual needs. I welcome feedback on what's working and what isn't to ensure you're getting exactly what you need from therapy. We are a trauma informed practice seeing individuals ages 18 to 65. We aim to offer a safe place to heal in a nonjudgmental way. We are a gender affirming and LBTQIA+ safe practice. We are also a safe place for all regardless of race or identifying factors. Our staff is compassionate, caring and respectful. We offer both therapy and medication. We also understand not everyone needs both services. We have a conservative and mindful approach to prescribing.
I am certified Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapist. In this approach, we get to know the different parts of you — the ones that may overfunction, strive for perfection, people-please, worry, or carry painful emotions. Rather than judging those parts, we learn to understand them with curiosity and compassion. Therapy can be a space to slow down, make sense of what’s happening internally, and help your system feel more balanced and connected. If faith or spirituality is important to you, we can absolutely incorporate that into our sessions. And if it’s not, that’s perfectly okay too.
HOPE AND HELP FOR YOUR RELATIONSHIP Your relationship is deeply important so the sooner it warms up, the better. We’ll find positive, practical steps you can take to make quick progress toward the shared future you long for, without dwelling on past problems or your childhood. You can stop the arguing, improve communication, recover from affairs, end abuse, enjoy satisfying sex, renew commitment, and rediscover the joy you once felt. What to expect from our work together: From my own life and my work as a counselor, I know how hard it is to stay connected over the long term. I also know it’s worth it. My research-based approach dramatically reduces the risk of separation and divorce. Your relationship is worth fighting for. Together, we can: -- Bring back warmth and connection -- Overcome frustrating sexual issues -- Make sense of your mixed-orientation marriage or relationship -- Put an end to hurtful and abusive behavior The first step is the most important. Having an experienced guide and a safe, structured environment makes a big difference as you rebuild your relationship. Let’s get started! I specialize in anxiety and stress issues. Although these problems are sometimes caused by your biological makeup, most are triggered by various life stressors. Common triggers are academic pressures, interpersonal conflicts, relationship breakups and family situations. Therefore, I believe it is crucial to collaborate with my clients to design solutions that are tailored to their strengths and personality.
I am a psychotherapist with more than 20 years of clinical, teaching and research experience. I work with individuals experiencing an array of circumstances and challenges. One of my specialties is counseling people with a focus on those in high-risk professions (e.g., law enforcement, fire/rescue, EMS, military) and their loved ones. I also work with a broad range of individuals employed in other “helping professions” (e.g., medical and mental healthcare providers, veterinary medicine professionals, educators, prosecutors, clergy) whose careers may have been negatively impacted by job and/or personal circumstances. I work with many other types of clients. My easy-going manner and collaborative style help clients develop effective strategies to enable you to better cope with, or to resolve challenges and issues, which adversely affect well-being and quality of life; depression and other mood disorders, anxiety, addiction, grief/loss, trauma, medical problems etc. The blending of my academic training, life experiences, accumulated clinical skills, and my “ability to be real with clients” combine to put my clients at ease and guide them in successfully navigating life’s challenges.
As a compassionate and dedicated mental health counselor, I specialize in supporting college and graduate students as they navigate the unique academic, emotional, interpersonal, and developmental challenges that arise during this important stage of life. Drawing from years of experience working in college counseling centers, I understand the pressures students often face, including anxiety, stress, procrastination, burnout, identity development, relationship concerns, family dynamics, substance use, and major life transitions. My therapeutic approach is collaborative, direct, and compassionate. I strive to create a supportive space where students feel heard, understood, and empowered to better understand themselves while building practical tools for growth and resilience. I recognize that the demands of higher education can impact every aspect of a student’s well-being, and I work closely with clients to develop personalized strategies that support both emotional health and academic success. In addition to individual therapy, I have extensive experience facilitating group therapy and supporting students in crisis, helping individuals strengthen self-awareness, improve coping skills, and build more fulfilling relationships with themselves and others. I am deeply committed to fostering an inclusive and affirming environment where students can explore challenges openly and work toward meaningful, lasting change. If you are looking for a therapist who will work collaboratively with you to identify goals, build on your strengths, and help you navigate the complexities of college or graduate life, I would be honored to support you on your journey.
