I specialize in working with adults who have achieved significant success in some domain, but still struggle to feel confident, connected, and/ or whole. Even when you've found academic or career related success, life can still feel empty. Feeling stuck or hopeless is a symptom of the problem. I can help you feel more alive and connected to all parts of your life I have 10 years experience and advanced training in insight oriented and relational psychotherapy. I believe in a curious, compassionate, and flexible approach, where I am an active participant in the conversation. I have a psychodynamic disposition, but am also very influenced by mindfulness and use an integrative approach where I can bring in interventions from multiple modalities if desired.

I am a psychologist working at CampusCare Counseling, a group practice serving only college students. I am highly experienced in addressing mental health needs of undergraduate and graduate students. My therapeutic work takes a largely integrative approach including, but not limited to, the use of psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, dialectical behavioral, exposure and response prevention, and acceptance and commitment therapeutic interventions. I work through a humanistic and client-centered lens, drawing from many concepts of internal family systems therapy. I believe that at our core, we are all inherently “good,” but our unique life experiences can lead us to adopt beliefs, behaviors, and coping strategies that may be healthy at times, or harmful at others. For this reason, I believe it is essential to explore the relationships and events that shaped distressing thoughts or unwanted behaviors to facilitate meaningful change. I hold unconditional positive regard for my clients, utilizing a trauma-informed approach to help college students gain a deeper understanding of themselves and a genuine appreciation for all the parts that make them who they are. It is my belief that with self-insight and self-love present, transformation, healing, and relief are always within reach.

Michel Selva, Psy.D. Is anxiety holding you back from pursuing your dreams and living a full life? Is depression pushing you deeper into your own "cocoon", isolated from family and friends? Do you often lose your temper? Are you struggling with substance abuse or compulsive behaviors (binge eating, gambling, video games, pornography)? I have successfully treated people with these problems. I take a collaborative approach to psychotherapy, checking in during each visit to make sure we are making progress toward your goals. In between visits, I use reading materials, experiential exercises, and a smart phone app to help you to stay on track. I use the tools of Behavior Therapy (ACT, ABA, CBT, REBT). Research has validated these methods for treatment of anxiety, mood disorders, and compulsive behaviors. My goal is to help you "Get Out of Your Mind and Into Your Life," which is the title of one of the workbooks I use with clients. As a long time practitioner of meditation, I have experienced its positive impact in my own life. I teach mindfulness practices individually and in groups. Mindfulness helps us to be fully aware and alive in the present moment, and to act effectively in pursuit of what is most important in our lives.

Hi! My name is Gabrielle (or you can call me Gabbe). Whether you’re new to therapy or returning for another go, here’s what you can expect from our sessions: a conversation where clinical insight, directness, and compassion intersect. In a world where daily demands, change and past experiences can make us feel stressed or lost, your identity, dignity, and needs should be a priority. Together, we’ll collaborate to create a space where you can feel understood while also being gently challenged toward the life and relationships you strive for. I specialize in supporting individuals with eating disorders, anxiety, and stressful life transitions by helping them cultivate a healthier, more fulfilling relationship with food, themselves, and the people in their lives. My approach is trauma-informed, HAES aligned, and centers around making authentic change by moving forward with imperfections and recognizing when it’s time to cut ourselves some slack. Outside of the therapy office, I’m often spending my time with my loved ones, enjoying fresh air, and window shopping at various vintage thrift markets. I also enjoy playing video games (especially the Sims or Elden Ring), or trying new, crafty activities when I feel a more introverted! You deserve a space where you feel genuinely seen and safe to show up as yourself. If you're curious whether you'd find that space here, please reach out and we can schedule a free consult call!

Therapy can help you find relief from distress and free up the “stuck” places in your life, the ways of relating to yourself and others that can feel self-defeating, limiting or out of your control. This can lead to distress that may come in many forms: anxiety, anger, emptiness, detachment. Yet these experiences are not only a source of suffering, they are also a message that speaks to desires, conflicts, and pain. Together, we work to understand all this and place it in the context of where you come from and the world you live in now. The goal is relief from ways of being that cause distress, and to move toward ways that feel expressive of who you are, how you want to live, and what you want your relationships to be. I work with individuals and relationships and specialize in a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, difficulties in relationships, psychosis, and issues related to gender, sexual, or racial identity.

I work at CampusCare Counseling. I am trauma-informed in my approach. This means I work with clients to build trust, taking into consideration personal and socio-cultural factors, with the goal of forming a therapeutic relationship that empowers clients and allows their authentic selves to be in the therapy space. I believe growth, as defined by the client, happens from there. When clinically indicated, I pull from my experience and training with trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and EMDR. Additionally, I use psychodynamic, existential, and feminist perspectives to inform my work.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist, offering individual psychotherapy to adults who may find themselves stuck, dissatisfied, or overwhelmed. I view therapy as a collaborative and active process, with the aims of better understanding one's distress and interpersonal difficulties, and improving one's quality of life. I am committed to helping my clients live more meaningful and authentic lives. I am skilled in the use of empirically supported treatments for psychological problems and I employ these strategies flexibly, with the goal of tailoring each client's treatment to his/her/their individual concerns and unique history. I received my Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and I completed my clinical training at the Cambridge Health Alliance/Harvard Medical School. I've also completed two post-graduate fellowships in psychodynamic psychotherapy. I consider myself a generalist, with particular expertise in young adult mental health. In addition to my private practice, I am a faculty member in the clinical psychology doctoral program at William James College. I served as the Clinical Training Director at the MIT Student Counseling Service for over a decade, and I also have supervised psychiatry residents through the Harvard Medical School Longwood Psychiatry Program. I truly enjoy working collaboratively with patients seeking help to gain insight, make changes in how they cope with stress and emotions, alter stuck patterns in their lives, and learn new, more effective ways to relate interpersonally. I would love to meet you and see if we can connect to improve whatever has been causing you pain or struggle. You may be dealing with everyday stresses of college life and demands, adjustment to a new college environment, complicated or traumatic family history, or trying to achieve relief or remain stable with significant diagnoses such as PTSD, depression, anxiety, mild to moderate eating disorders, and emotional intensity. I have extensive experience treating survivors of trauma. These experiences can lead to an array of difficulties including PTSD, dissociation, anxiety, depression, and emotional dysregulation. I am experienced at working with any of these problems/diagnoses and more. I work with each person individually to identify treatment goals and decide what approach might be the best fit. I tend to integrate treatment models in my thinking and practice, with intensive training completed in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and advanced training in psychodynamic treatment. My style is warm and non-judgmental, sensitive, deeply caring, and very appreciative of humor and creativity- these are incredible human resources. I look forward to meeting you and hope we can forge an important supportive relationship that also provides change and promotes growth in these pivotal years.

As a clinician, I seek to develop a strong rapport with my clients to promote a collaborative treatment process. I help my clients learn more about themselves and better identify their emotional and therapeutic needs. I believe the opportunity for my clients to develop a sense of agency, and identify how to take action when faced with difficult situations, is key to self-empowerment and growth. I work with my clients to gather information about themselves and their situations, to learn to reflect on their emotions and behaviors in a nonjudgmental way, and to build their confidence to make positive decisions in their life.
