Therapists for college students near Boston, MA
Hello! I am a pre-licensed mental health counselor who works with students navigating through life changes, identity exploration, relationships, and past/current trauma. My goal is to create a space that feels safe, supportive, and comfortable, where showing up as your full self is welcomed and encouraged! I bring a warm, down-to-earth approach that's centered in honesty and compassion, with a focus on helping you feel grounded and empowered. I believe therapy works best when it's a partnership, and together, we’ll explore your experiences with a focus on resilience and your inner strengths!
I offer expertise in long-term individual therapy, meeting with most of my patients weekly or more. I enjoy working with difficult issues including depression, anxiety, and trauma. These issues often have many manifestations like panic, procrastination and avoidance, low energy, low confidence, eating and sleep disturbances to name only a few. I work hard to offer a space where we can listen very carefully to what is contributing to these problems. My belief is that our problems point to something more than disorder and dysfunction; they point to something that is profoundly unique in each of us. I look forward to hearing from you to talk about how I can help.
Hello! I'm glad you're here! Are you feeling stressed and overwhelmed with school and life? Having a hard time finding balance in your life? I specialize in working with people dealing with many of the manifestations of anxiety. I focus my clinical work on people who are LGBTQIA, creatives; college students, people who are dealing with chronic health issues; and people in larger bodies through a fat liberation and HAES (Health At Every Size) lens; I strive to be an anti racist provider and I work hard to be transparent, learning from those who are not my clients, and highly accountable.
With life becoming increasingly demanding, it can feel like we are always battling on a new frontier. We do not, however, have to power through it alone! Whether it’s with relationships, family, jobs, college, new cultural environments or even ourselves, I aim to support my clients with recognizing and managing the emotional impact that life’s torrent of changes has on us all. My therapeutic approach is to create an accepting relationship so sessions can be a comfortable and judgment free zone. I have experience working with diverse populations holding diagnoses of anxiety, mood disorders, trauma and PTSD, ADHD, and attachment barriers. I utilize a broad range of treatment modalities that are tailored to suit your unique needs and support the goals you set. I believe the therapeutic journey is about your experiences and goals, and my role is supporting you in that process of exploration, development and discovery. I look forward to using a strengths-based approach to collaborate with you in a safe environment toward taking those first few steps together.
I work with clients to manage how their mental well-being impacts their work. Mental health challenges can affect focus, confidence, and performance, and many of my clients experience anxiety, depression, trauma, perfectionism, or ADHD. I also work with students and professionals who are seeking direction in their careers or navigating a transition. Together, we use evidence-based therapy (including CBT and EMDR) and practical career guidance to align your career goals with your personal well-being.
Hi, my name is Jenny Rivillas-O'Neill. I am a firm believer in a multidimensional approach to care in order to achieve sustained wellness. My framework incorporates the understanding that we may all experience periods where life management skills alone are insufficient, and thoughtful medication supplementation can be therapeutic in achieving balance and wellness. Through direct care experience, my knowledge, motivation, and passion for assisting people seeking wellness have grown exponentially. My experience includes PMHNP Residency training in the VA Boston Healthcare System, Inpatient Nursing Director at BIDMC, and currently in the last year of a Doctoral program at Yale concentrating on adverse childhood and community experiences and finding pathways toward healing.

Approaching ourselves with curiosity and compassion is the best way to grow and heal. Therapy is an opportunity to examine the past, gain insight, explore identity, challenge unhelpful thoughts and behaviors, improve relationships, and manage transitions. A good therapeutic relationship is collaborative and affirming: based on trust, respect, and acceptance. I welcome clients of all backgrounds, experiences, and orientations. My background is in psychodynamic psychotherapy. My work is informed by an attachment lens, parts work, and polyvagal theory. I am an EMDR Certified clinician.

Sometimes, when people come to therapy, they’re looking for a solution to something that feels urgent or overwhelming. At other times, people can't put words to what's wrong, but they know that something that doesn't feel right. Whether you're looking for help with anxiety, life transitions, relationship issues, or something else, my goal is to put our heads together to create a space where you feel truly heard and supported in order to find a way forward. I'm trained in English and Spanish in a variety of therapeutic modalities that range from meaning-oriented work and narrative therapy to behavioral techniques, but what's most important to me is that we come together and use pieces of any of those that will be helpful to the person that I'm sitting with. I have a few openings (in-person or virtually). Contact me for a 25-minute free consultation to see if my style would be helpful for you - or to possibly refer you to a colleague. Looking forward to being of service to you!

Accepting new clients! I help college students: -stop obsessing about food, their body image, or what they're eating -let go of chronic worrying and find stillness in amidst busy lives -manage their stress so that students can stay on top of all their demands -feel more in control by better organizing their time and building routine (less doom scrolling!) -feel more authentic navigating new-found independence (particularly among societal or familial pressures!) I work with adults, adolescents, couples and families to help folks live full and meaningful lives. If you choose to work with me, I will assume you’re coming with problems in your life or your relationships that you’d like to work on. I will hold steadfast to the idea that people are not problems, problems are problems. And while therapy might not be the exact solution to what ails you, it can help a good bit. And I want to help. I’m in this work because I believe in the power of talk therapy to bring about positive changes to our lives. I’ve spent a good bit of time learning how to listen well, ask thoughtful questions, and empathize with my clients. I work with clients experiencing a wide range of issues like depression, anxiety, life transitions, relationship challenges, and general stuckness. I’m confident enough to know that I can be a great fit to some folks and humble enough to know that I’ll be a terrible fit to others. And I’m pretty sure this blurb isn’t enough to determine which is which, but a free 15-20 minutes on the phone could get us close to knowing if therapy together is worthwhile. Let’s chat. I trained at the Brookline Center for Community Mental Health and the Boston College School of Social Work. I’ve done advanced training in narrative therapy through the Narrative Therapy Initiative.
Hello College Students! My name is Andrew Taytslin, Psy.D., and I am a clinical psychologist with over ten years of experience conducting neuropsychological and psychological evaluations with individuals across the lifespan. One of my specialties is helping college students identify aspects of their cognitive and psychological functioning that can impact day-to-day life, such as school and academics, work, social/interpersonal functioning, and mental health. The evaluations I conduct are comprehensive, involving various cognitive and psychological tests, and yield a diagnostic report that reviews test results, a summary of findings (including diagnoses if indicated), and treatment recommendations. For college students who receive a diagnosis and require assistance in the school setting, reports also include recommendations that can be integrated into accommodation plans in coordination with your school’s services department(s).
