Hello! I help my clients find balance through maximizing their emotional well-being while also improving their nutrition. My specialties include working in the areas of eating disorders, body image, anxiety and depression, and sports performance. It is essential to practice self-care in order to have the energy, drive, and focus required to accomplish our life goals. Attention to health is vital, but if taken to the extreme, can wear us down. Preoccupation with food or exercise can distract from experiencing the nuances of life, as well as prevent the formation of meaningful relationships. I work with my clients to help them enjoy their food experiences, but also to utilize it as medicine to enhance well-being, perform effectively in school and at work, and enhance athletic abilities. I use a non-diet approach, focusing on assisting clients develop intuitive eating skills and increase mindfulness towards food and their body. My goal is to help you set and reach realistic and sustainable goals. If this approach resonates with you, please reach out; I would love to connect.

I am a psychiatrist in private practice for over 20 years, treating patients by integrating psychotherapy, psychoanalysis and, when indicated psychopharmacology. As a physician, I am able to evaluate patients with symptoms which may be medical or psychiatric in origin, understanding the mind-body connection. I see a broad range of patients, some suffering from major mental illness to those healthy individuals seeking to learn more about themselves. A major focus of my private practice is working with college and graduate students. I see students as young as seniors in high school and consult to parents of college age students around the country. I am an Affiliated Psychiatrist at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and Instructor, Harvard Medical School from 1994-2014. I am a Diplomat, American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology re-certified in 2014. My role is to help the patient develop an integrated personal narrative, exploring unconscious conflicts, understanding the experience of self in relation to others, and to take responsibility, not just for their difficulties, but their strengths as well.

What I love most about my work is walking alongside people as they navigate life’s most difficult moments — grief, major life transitions, caregiving, serious illness, or the stress and uncertainty that comes with change. Life transitions can reshape how we understand ourselves, our relationships, and our future. Big changes — divorce, moving, career shifts, chronic illness, or the death of someone you love — can leave you feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to move forward. Therapy is not about “moving on” or “getting over” your grief or stress. It’s about learning how to carry life’s challenges while honoring your story. I specialize in relational therapy that helps individuals, parents, and families make sense of the grief, stress, and anxiety that often comes with life transitions, while building on your inherent strengths to achieve your goals. I use principles of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to build practical skills for coping and managing difficult emotions. I strive to be an authentic, warm, and honest therapist that brings empathy, understanding, and a little lightness to healing. Please feel welcome to reach out for an initial phone consultation - I would love to see if we’re a good fit.

Every person comes with a different story, and this means that therapy should not be a one size fits all experience. College can be a very exciting time, however it comes with a lot of changes. Realizing that you might need to take the next step and engage in therapy can be scary, but together we will set realistic goals in a non-judgemental and welcoming environment. I specialize in anxiety, depression, and general stressors that accompany college life. I also have extensive experience working with people who have experienced trauma. I believe we all have the ability to cope with difficult situations in our lives, but often need support in doing this. Our time together should feel beneficial and I encourage you to reach out to discuss if we are the right fit.
Many people come to therapy feeling disconnected from their bodies, their relationships, or a clear sense of who they are... old wounds can show up through self-doubt, overthinking, numbness, or a feeling of not quite belonging. My clients are often introspective, sensitive, or creative souls that come to me during times of transition, burnout, relationship challenges, recovery from addiction, or when seeking a deeper connection to themselves and their purpose. Our therapy process will invite you to slow down, listen inwardly, and repair the hurt that restricts your vitality and authentic self-expression. I specialize in integrative therapy that blends relational talk therapy with body awareness, breath, inner child work, and earth-based practices. I draw from IFS, somatic therapies, psychodynamic therapy, and mindfulness-based approaches, while also incorporating ACT and CBT to support aligned action. My approach is non-pathologizing and collaborative. Our work will effectively move you towards: greater clarity and confidence in your choices; Emotional resilience and self-compassion; A more authentic connection to yourself and others; A sense of wholeness, direction, and purpose. If it feels like we could be a fit, I would love to hear from you. Reach out to schedule an initial session.
