Therapists for college students near Harvard University
Life can be a lot! There are times when people may feel hopeless, isolated, or like they have no choice but to struggle alone. As a queer person, I know the importance of connection and community. My goal is to offer a space where you can feel safe in vulnerability and supported in facing challenges. I work primarily with adults and college-aged individuals and couples experiencing anxiety, depression, or relationship issues. My approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, and grounded in emotion-focused, relational work. I draw from a range of therapeutic modalities to find the best fit for your unique needs, believing that healing is not one-size-fits-all. Being ready to start therapy doesn’t mean you have to feel ready to dive in head-first. Sometimes, the first challenge is simply taking that first step. If you want to do that, I will meet you at your pace with honesty, care, and respect as we work together toward understanding and change.
Are you tired of feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or like you have to “keep it together” all the time? I support individuals who are often high-achieving or driven but find themselves feeling disconnected, exhausted, or unsure of how to move forward, especially during times of transition or uncertainty. As a Mental Health Clinician with a specialization in Sport Psychology from Boston University, I bring both lived experience and clinical training into the therapeutic space. My work is grounded in supporting clients as they reconnect with themselves, navigate pressure, and move toward meaningful growth and healing. I tailor our work to honor the complexity of who you are, including your identities, experiences, and the systems that shape you. As a bi-racial woman, I understand how traditional models of therapy can overlook marginalized voices. I strive to create a space where you feel seen, respected, and safe enough to explore, grow, and heal at your own pace. Whether you’re exploring identity, managing stress, processing past experiences, or simply seeking a space to rest and reflect, therapy can be a powerful step toward healing. Together, we’ll explore what growth looks like for you.
Life often presents us with challenges that can be difficult to cope with alone. Whether these struggles come from our work, school, relationships or family dynamics, psychotherapy is often where solutions can be found. While we can't change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life. By applying complementary therapy approaches and techniques, we can unearth long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life. If you're looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation or you're just ready to move in a new direction in your life, I am available to work with you to achieve your goals. Know that you are not alone.
If you are looking for support with self-exploration and self-esteem; experiencing relationship stress, depression or anxiety; adjusting to life at school or other big changes; or if you just feel like you need somewhere to unpack things you've been carrying for too long -- let's talk. I welcome every piece of your journey with radical acceptance - the grit, the shame, the parts we all try to hide and bury away. The funny thing about those things is, we all have them. I love therapy because it gives that stuff some room to breathe - which gives YOU room to breathe. And reboot. And make plans for what comes next. Over my years in the field, I've developed an approach to therapy that combines creativity and collaboration, focusing on a trusting, safe connection as the bedrock of our work. I utilize a variety of talk and expressive therapy modalities and love approaching things through a non-traditional lens. Connecting with a therapist when you're already struggling can be really overwhelming. Be proud that you're taking this first step right now. With time and space to bear witness to the answers you have within yourself, and a person you trust to help, it becomes easier to feel better and find the ground beneath your feet.
Hi, thanks so much for taking an interest in my practice. It takes great courage and awareness to come to the decision to reach out for support. I see clients in my office in Cambridge, MA, near Davis Square, and in Melrose, MA, as well as by teletherapy/videochat. I specialize in helping people to free themselves from the 'silent conversation' that we have with ourselves throughout the day. By understanding how this conversation influences our thoughts, feelings, and actions, it is possible to adapt it to feel more empowered in life. It is my hope that your therapy experience will feel comforting, meaningful, real, and effective in getting to the heart of your core concerns. I work from an integrative framework in a warm and interactive environment, drawing from holistic, cognitive, and psychodynamic influences to help people to reclaim a sense of choice and authorship in their lives. My background includes more than 25 years in clinical healthcare, school, and community settings working therapeutically with individuals, couples, and groups on a wide-range of issues causing acute and chronic distress. What if getting better didn't mean spending years talking about everything that's ever gone wrong? I work with college and grad students to build real, lasting change by providing insight and skills that actually help. With over a decade of clinical work in the US and abroad, I've helped young adults manage anxiety, quiet the perfectionism and imposter syndrome that follow them into every exam and internship, while creating a healthy type of confidence that remains under pressure. My clients describe working with me as supportive, direct, collaborative, and nothing like what they expected therapy to be. We figure out what's driving the pattern. Then we work on changing it. I specialize in: anxiety, burnout and stress, low self-esteem, perfectionism, and people-pleasing. My approach pulls from CBT, ACT, Positive Psychology, and Mindfulness, grounded in a trauma-informed model. You don't have to have it figured out to start. Currently offering Online Therapy throughout Massachusetts, New York, Colorado, Vermont, and Florida. Whether you are in Boston, NYC, or Denver, I am ready when you are.
I believe the role of a therapist is to be more than a reflective and empathetic companion in the client’s journey and must also incorporate directive approaches in order to alternate between being a companion and being a leader on that journey. Inherent in this belief is that clients are coming to therapy because they want something different than what they currently have. This can be as simple as a new perspective on a past or current struggle or as complex as a new skill set for managing and overcoming emotional, behavioral, cognitive, relational, or somatic patterns that have arisen in response to emotional distress. My theoretical orientation is rooted in Systems Theory and I utilize interventions from Family Systems Therapy, Internal Family Systems, CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, ARC, as well as Somatic and Mindfulness based psychotherapies. I have over 15 years of clinical experience working with adolescents, college students, adults, couples, and families. My experience has shown that change is typically hard work and often requires compassionate and collaborative support in order to build new skills. I see clients in both Oregon and Massachusetts and I offer a 30 minute free video or phone consultation to see if I am the right fit for you.
Having spent part of my life in Europe and Africa, my background helps me work with a diverse range of clients - from college students and veterans to corporate employees and expats. I am a clinical psychologist and cultural psychologist (Rutgers, PsyD; Harvard, BA) with 19 years of experience providing psychotherapy to adults. My specialties include depression, trauma, and anxiety as well as stress, life transitions, cultural adjustment, and relationship issues. I am a caring, interactive therapist and use an integrative approach (ACT, CBT, psychodynamic, and mindfulness techniques) to provide you with a safe space to heal and practice new tools as you reset your life compass. I see therapy as a gift to yourself: making time to build knowledge, awareness, and compassion, try new behaviors, and improve your quality of life. Change is possible at any age if there is courage, flexibility, willingness, and action. I also believe that a variety of things can help us heal and enrich our lives (e.g. music, sports, nature, friendships). I look forward to starting this chapter of compassion, healing, and growth with you and invite you to schedule a free consultation today.

Every person is the expert in their own lives and and experiences and I see my role as supporting people to direct themselves in the path they best see fit. Sometimes things like anxiety, depression, body image issues, and interpersonal conflicts can make it difficult to really stay connected to who you are and achieve what you want to achieve. I work with a lot of college age students, young adults, and adults who are looking to find their way while managing significant stressors. I show up for my clients with curiosity, authenticity, compassion, and humor in order to help them feel empowered to make the shifts in their thinking or behavior that they want. If you want to know more, please schedule an initial consultation with me through my website!
Perhaps you’ve been feeling overwhelmed recently. Or you’re struggling with constant worry and stress. Being a young woman and trying to find your way into adulthood is not an easy path. Anxiety is a common feeling during this time, and a natural human emotion, but too much of it can prevent us from leading the life we want. We all go through difficult times, and sometimes we need a little extra support to see our way through. I view my role as a therapist as a supportive and encouraging guide. Together we’ll explore unhelpful thoughts and patterns getting in the way of you becoming the woman you want to be.
I am a licensed therapist with 14 years of experience helping individuals navigate anxiety, OCD, ADHD, and trauma. Many of the people I work with find themselves stuck in cycles of procrastination and harsh self-criticism, which can make it difficult to feel present or engaged in their daily lives. My approach combines traditional talk therapy with somatic, mind-body techniques that support nervous system regulation and help calm stress stored in the body. Together, we work to create more space for clarity, self-compassion, and meaningful change.
I am accepting new clients! I believe in the power of therapy to help people connect with inner wisdom, explore and build upon strengths, and process difficulties in a supportive and non-judgmental space. I view the therapeutic relationship as being fundamental to growth and change, as it lays the groundwork for you to work through vulnerable feelings and explore relational patterns. I try to foster this relationship by connecting on a human level and providing an atmosphere of care, acceptance, openness, curiosity, and humility. While I tend not to give advice, I may share new perspectives, offer tools for change, or help you draw connections between current patterns and past experiences. I deeply respect your decision to seek therapy and look forward to getting to know you.

Every person has his or her own unique story and path to follow. We all have phases of joy and success, pain and suffering. No one is exempt from experiencing a whole range of emotions. I am here to help guide you to make the changes you wish and to liberate yourself from old patterns that no longer serve you. It would be a privilege for me to witness these meaningful changes in your life prompted by our work together in therapy. I specialize in working with college and graduate students, and young adults struggling with stress, anxiety, test anxiety and school and work problems. I have much experience working with culturally diverse clients. I have also 12 years of experience in behavioral sciences research. I provide therapy in English and Spanish. Balance in life can only be achieved when we start taking care of both our mental and physical health. I take an integrative approach to address clients' cognitive, emotional and physical needs. Whether that is challenging your anxious/ negative thoughts, changing disruptive relationship patterns, avoiding work burnout or taking steps towards better nutrition and physical routines, we will address the whole you each session. I have worked in the therapy field for ten years and have experience treating a variety of conditions including; anxiety, depression, life- transitions and trauma responses. I often see the medical field project a false advertisement that we can all be “fixed”. This can create a cycle of shame and discouragement when we try over and over again to find quick solutions for ourselves. I strive to challenge those inner critics and push my clients towards finding their true selves; living with self compassion and confidence. Please send an email to coordinate an initial free exploratory call. I will assess if myself or another clinician at Balanced Therapy Approach is a good fit for your current needs.
