Finding a therapist can be a confusing and overwhelming process. Sorting through seemingly endless lists of names and faces when all you want is to connect to a real person. I would like to offer you an invitation for us to meet at no cost to you. We can talk a while and see if we would like to work together. I am here to help people who feel stuck in anxiety and depression to find their way through these challenging emotions to a sense of ease in a more authentic and satisfying relationship with life and themselves. My holistic practice is rooted in building a safe, supportive relationship and trusting your inner wisdom as we work side by side exploring life's challenges. Working together we'll discover your unique needs and strengths in developing our goals for treatment. I am committed to empathy and open-mindedness while utilizing therapeutic techniques with proven effectiveness. My work involves a unique blending of therapeutic modalities. Learning and practice in Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, CBT, Solution Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Somatic Awareness, Circle of Security, Trauma-Focused Equine Assisted Psychotherapy and Psychodynamic Therapy have all served my holistic approach to the healing process.

I specialize in relationship issues, breakups, and complex trauma processing, and I work with adult individuals and couples. Folks who struggle with boundaries, expressing needs, avoidance, anxiety, or managing conflict find our work rewarding. I'm especially passionate about supporting BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and highly sensitive folks. I help clients process distress, foster meaningful connections, and build resiliency. I’m a humanistic, strengths-based therapist, which means I believe that you already have what you need within you to thrive. We'll work together to heal past wounds and uncover the authentic self that lies beneath. I'm trauma-informed and attachment-oriented, and often use IFS and EFT interventions. I focus on creating experiences in session where you can connect to your body, emotions, and parts of yourself you’ve kept hidden, even from yourself. If you’re journeying as a couple, this may look like learning to connect in more vulnerable ways. Reaching out to a new therapist can feel daunting, and I get how important it is to find someone who feels right for you. I’m here to help you figure out what you really need and how we can make that happen together. I’m excited to meet you and help you find the trust, confidence, and peace of mind you deserve.

Our life experiences inevitably shape us as individuals. They impact the way we interact with ourselves, others, and the world around us. They even influence our careers, attitudes, and perspectives. In the case of experiencing trauma, this can lead us to live lives characterized by avoiding triggers, feeling isolated, and doing whatever it takes to find spaces that feel safe in a world that, otherwise, feels unsafe. I know the devastation of feeling like you have lost yourself as a result of experiencing trauma, and I know the resiliency it requires to begin to pick up the pieces of what feels like a shattered life and try again. As a licensed counselor, I am here to provide a safe space to talk through painful experiences and emotions. I enjoy working with adults who wish to process past trauma utilizing EMDR, those experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, perfectionism, or low self-esteem, and those who are struggling with spirituality and faith concerns. Seeking help is a big decision, and many find themselves scrolling through a list of therapists, feeling desperate and overwhelmed. I want you to find a counselor who is the right fit, and I offer a free 15 min consultation call so we can get to know each other. If you're looking for support during a difficult season, I would be honored to work with you.

As a result, I practice active listening, treating everyone with respect, dignity, sensitivity, and compassion. My technique combines cognitive behavior therapy, mindfulness, a solution-focused approach, motivational interviewing, and client-centered counseling. Our dialog and your treatment plan will be adapted to meet your unique and specific needs. I believe you deserve to live a healthier happier life. If you are ready to take that first step onto a healing pathway, know that you do not have to take it alone. I am here to support and empower you. I am a psychiatric mental health board-certified nurse practitioner. I attended The University of Alabama at Birmingham to complete my graduate degree. Before becoming a nurse practitioner, I worked as a registered nurse in the Neurosciences Intensive Care Unit at the University of Birmingham Hospital. Committing to patient-centered care, I leverage my training and educational background to achieve optimal outcomes for my patients. I develop a treatment plan for each patient using evidence-based research. I work with a multidisciplinary team, putting the mental health and well-being of each patient first. I am committed to fostering a therapeutic environment that promotes trust, open communication, and collaboration between patients and their healthcare team. In addition to a physical assessment, a comprehensive mental health evaluation is also performed during the initial visit. A treatment plan is then developed based on the patient's short- and long-term objectives. Every strategy is tailored to the individual patient and may involve lifestyle modifications, medication management, and addressing physical health concerns.
