I believe that being in therapy is about creating space for positive change. When we can slow down and make room for ourselves, we can grow and create lasting adjustments that make our lives more balanced and enjoyable. I work collaboratively with clients, providing a safe and non-judgmental space to explore issues, problem solve, navigate life transitions, develop new and creative coping skills, and strengthen one’s relationship with themselves and with others. I specialize in helping with stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction recovery. I also work extensively with artists of all kinds who are experiencing creative blocks or stagnation in their art/creative practices and life. Art therapy is a form of psychotherapy that uses art materials and the creative process to help people express, process, and integrate their thoughts, feelings, and emotions. Art therapy is for everyone, not just people who identify as artists or have experience with the visual arts. Clients see me for talk therapy and or art therapy. All sessions are tailored to the preferences and goals of my clients. My approach is holistic and person-center, integrating traditional talk therapies and art therapy with mindfulness/body-based practices. I am a patient and compassionate therapist, who values humor and direct communication, dedicated to supporting my clients in their healing process and personal growth, enacting the changes they desire to see within themselves.

I provide virtual therapy to clients located in Virginia, Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York. I am inspired when I see college-age men and women who are searching for emotional, financial, and intellectual independence. College can be a challenging time of finding identity and intimacy and I assist by helping clarify college relationships. Having taught in a Graduate School program for social workers for 5 years, as well as attended college while raising children, I understand many things about the stages of early adulthood. I offer a safe space to process different parts that may be confusing using the IKVaS Method, a clinically based approach to processing adverse emotions, synthesized from 15 years of practice. You will safely integrate the different facets of your personality and enhance congruence, agency, and personal power, enabling health growth.

College can be exciting, but it can also feel overwhelming. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, relationship concerns, family stress, perfectionism, identity questions, or a major life transition, therapy can provide a space to better understand yourself and develop practical ways to move forward. I'm a licensed psychologist with over 10 years of experience, including work at five college counseling centers. I specialize in helping students navigate the emotional challenges that often accompany college and young adulthood. Together, we'll explore the patterns that may be keeping you stuck while also building concrete skills to improve relationships, manage difficult emotions, communicate more effectively, and feel more confident in your daily life. My approach is warm, collaborative, and direct. I integrate insight-oriented therapy with evidence-based strategies, tailoring treatment to your individual needs rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. I provide virtual therapy for students located in New York, New Jersey, Florida, and other PSYPACT participating states. I also offer therapy in both English and Spanish. Call or message me today to schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation to get started. I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi there! I'm so glad you found my page. I look forward to helping you navigate whatever might currently be keeping you from feeling fulfilled. As a neurodivergent, queer identified therapist, I find myself working best with those who are developing greater attunement with their own identity. Together with my clients, I use a person-centered, strength-based approach to identify and practice coping skills and expand emotional awareness and resilience. Life is stressful and full of difficult experiences, and through art therapy directives as well as additional modalities such as DBT and EMDR, I partner with my clients to help them identify what it is that they would like to change and make a plan of action. Reaching out for support is a powerful first step! Whatever it is you need, I look forward to partnering with you in support and compassion.

I do evaluations for ADHD and autism in adults. The students I work with usually made it a long way on effort alone. They got good grades, got into a good school, and figured out their own systems for keeping up. Then something changed. The workload got heavier, the structure got looser, or they hit a semester where the old tricks stopped working, and suddenly they were reading the same paragraph four times, starting papers the night before, or so exhausted after a full day of class and people that they had nothing left. A lot of them have been told they are smart but not applying themselves. A lot of them have been treated for anxiety or depression, and it helped some, but not with the part that actually gets in the way. Many are Black students, women, or students who learned early to keep it together in public no matter what it cost. Nobody ever suggested testing, because from the outside they looked fine. Some come to me because a friend got diagnosed and it sounded familiar. Some come because they need documentation for accommodations and have no idea where to start. Some come because they are tired of not knowing. If any of that sounds like you, I do evaluations for ADHD and autism in adults. You do not need to have it figured out before you reach out. That is what the evaluation is for.

Therapy is a journey where you learn more about yourself, your internal experience, and your loved ones in order to change your life based on your own goals and values. I can help you and/or other members of your family gain flexibility in your thoughts and actions through experiential skill development. At times, therapy can involve vulnerability and emotional expression; while at other times, it can be playful and enlightening. My goal is to create a warm and safe environment where emotions, thoughts, memories, and other internal experiences can be explored with compassion and understanding. I have experience in treating trauma, anxiety, OCD, insomnia, depression, bipolar disorder, psychosis, and interpersonal concerns using a variety of evidence based treatments. I have helped children, adolescents, families, parents, and couples approach their concerns from a family systems perspective.

While our practice does not offer traditional therapy, we specialize in comprehensive diagnostic assessments for adults who are either seeking a clearer understanding of their mental health or who have found traditional therapy ineffective in meeting their needs. Our evaluation process is designed to get to the root of what’s truly going on—emotionally, cognitively, and behaviorally. Following assessment, you will receive a detailed clinical report that includes a formal diagnosis (if applicable), a personalized treatment plan, and targeted recommendations to guide therapy. This approach helps ensure that your time in treatment is focused, efficient, and grounded in evidence-based practices. How Our Services Differ Many adults enter therapy without a clear diagnosis or direction, often leading to months or even years of “talk therapy” without significant progress. Our approach removes the guesswork. Using a structured combination of clinical interviews, psychological and personality testing, and other relevant measures, we provide a complete picture of your functioning. Every recommendation we provide is backed by empirical data and tailored to your individual history, needs, and goals. You’ll walk away with: • A definitive understanding of what you're experiencing • A written treatment plan based on scientific evidence and best practices • A list of highly qualified therapists in your area with experience in your specific areas of need What to Expect • Two appointments: one clinical diagnostic interview and one testing session • Psychological and personality measures, with additional assessments as needed • A thorough written report outlining diagnostic findings and a therapy roadmap • A final feedback session to walk through your results and next steps If you're interested in proceeding, please reply to confirm and provide a copy of your photo ID and the front and back of your insurance card(s). If you have questions before moving forward, I’d be happy to speak with you directly. Warmly, Dr. Brotz

A Key Therapy is a group practice of licensed, mindfulness-based therapists — most of us social workers — working with students and young adults through secure telehealth. We see what tends to surface during college and the years right after: anxiety humming under a full schedule, depression, burnout, grief, relationship and family stress, identity questions, and the transitions that come with starting, pausing, or finishing school. Mindfulness-based therapy is our specialty, not a side offering — our clinicians pair evidence-based treatment with mindfulness practice so you spend less energy white-knuckling hard feelings and more learning to meet them with steadiness. Starting therapy can feel like one more thing on an already full plate. You don't need the right words or a tidy story to begin. Reach out and we'll answer your questions and match you with the clinician who's the right fit. Licensed in New York, New Jersey, Delaware, and Virginia. Individual and group sessions, telehealth statewide.
