Therapists for college students near New York University
I work alongside my clients to empower them and help build confidence in their ability to achieve their goals and create a life that feels fulfilling and balanced. Whether you're navigating dating, relationships, decision-making, life transitions, anxiety, depression, or your career, I’m in your corner—believing in your capacity to grow, thrive, and make meaningful changes. I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where you can better understand your emotions, build resilience, and develop healthier patterns in both relationships and how you see yourself. I understand that life as a young professional can be overwhelming and often leads to self-doubt and internal distress. I work with clients to uncover and shift the internal narratives that may be holding them back from showing up fully and authentically in relationships and life. In our sessions, I’ll help you manage stress and anxiety, set healthy boundaries, and navigate career transitions with intention.
Sometimes words don’t fully capture our experiences or do them justice. My journey into this work began with the discovery that art, music, movement, and other forms of creative expression can communicate the parts of ourselves that language alone cannot reach. These expressions are deeply human and can become powerful pathways to insight, healing, and connection. Therapy asks for honesty, vulnerability, and commitment, but it does not have to focus only on pain. My approach balances depth and growth with humor, curiosity, and discovery. Art therapy is not about being “good” at art; it is about using creativity and reflection to gain insight, process experiences, and foster new perspectives and possibilities. Together, we will explore patterns, relationships, challenges, and goals while strengthening resilience, quieting self-critical thoughts, and developing practical tools for navigating life’s challenges. Our work creates the foundation for deeper self-understanding, greater balance, and lasting growth.
As a therapist, I take a collaborative and supportive approach with my clients. I work with students facing anxiety and depression—whether tied to academic pressures or other factors—as well as those managing chronic illnesses or disabilities. I also support students who are navigating relationship challenges with friends, family, or romantic partners, and those going through significant life transitions. College is a time of profound change, often sparking a desire to explore who we are—our past, our present, and the person we hope to become.
Are you trying to manage your stress in the ever-growing tumultuous environment? Are you working from home having a hard time juggling with family life? Perhaps you have a challenge with practicing effective communication? Or maybe just talking about your issues can be difficult, and that's ok. Do you want to learn more about yourself, how to cope in a healthy way, and have better communication? I can help. In my practice, I respect the unique experience of each individual. I see the particular difficulties that each faces. I listen and interact with empathy and provide insight and support. No two treatments are the same. Using techniques from Solution-Focused Psychotherapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I offer support and teach skills to help you change negative thought patterns, increase your coping strategies, and feel more empowered. We’ll work side-by-side to ensure your success. I believe it is important to feel heard, validated, and understood. We need to feel purposeful and that we matter. We can't change difficult situations of the past, but we can work together to better understand them and to resolve current challenges in your life. I offer a safe place for you to discuss your feelings and emotions without judgment.
I work with neurodivergent adults experiencing burnout from overfunctioning and masking. Many of my clients manage competing responsibilities while coping with anxiety, depression, relational conflict, and the lasting impact of trauma. Many are BIPOC adults from immigrant communities exploring intersecting identities and cultural expectations. I offer therapy in English and Spanish and strive to create a supportive, culturally responsive space where clients feel understood. Together, we focus on developing practical strategies to support meaningful change that can be sustained long after therapy ends.
You may be seeking therapy to understand yourself better, express yourself more authentically, build stronger social connections, or get through a big life transition. As you navigate high-pressure challenges in school, work, or relationships, you want practical strategies to communicate and move ahead more confidently and authentically, and strengthen your sense of self. Our work - whether it's short-term or ongoing - will be collaborative and goal-oriented. I work across the lifespan, and have openings for therapy, parent support/consultation, and adult autism assessments. You'll find my approach to be strengths-focused, neuroaffirmative, and trauma-informed, and to involve a lot of self-compassion.

My specialties include trauma and stress management, life transitions, coaching, general mental health, and parenting counseling.
When you make the decision to attend therapy, you are making the decision to prioritize your wellbeing in a fundamentally unique way. Therapy is something that can be challenging, but also transformative– Especially for those who have not been listened to, believed, or had the freedom to pause and practice introspection due to the demands of life. Knowing the challenges of finding a therapist who can understand your life experiences, I prioritize working with communities with whom I share personal experience. This includes, but is not limited to: LGBTQIA+, polyamorous/ENM, BDSM/kink, sex worker, SA/DV survivors, neurodivergent, chronically ill & disabled communities. My work is grounded in Relational-Cultural Therapy, which emphasizes the importance of the relationship between therapist and client as an essential part of the therapeutic process. I aim to minimize power dynamics in the room between therapist and client, and firmly believe you are the expert of your life. Rather than an authority in the room, I see my role as a collaborator in helping you achieve your therapy goals. For those who wish to know my social location: I am a Black, queer, disabled, neurodivergent, polyamorous, non-binary therapist in my 30s. I come from a middle-class background in a mixed race household, am a US citizen, and was raised Catholic but am not religious. I approach therapy as a team effort grounded in trauma-informed, anti-racist, fat liberatory, sex & kink positive, and feminist ideals. My therapy practice is eclectic, borrowing from multiple modalities in order to find the best approach for each individual client, couple, or polycule. Common approaches I incorporate include: EFT (emotion focused therapy), IFS (internal family systems), Sex Therapy, and Attachment Theory. I work with clients on a variety of topics, but special interests include: Unpacking attachment wounds using IFS; Transition stages in Poly/ENM; Freedom from shame regarding sex & kink; Impacts of disability; Relationships to health, disordered eating, and/or fatness from a fat liberatory and body neutrality lens. “Adulting” can feel overwhelming—especially when anxiety, relationship challenges, or major life transitions are in the mix. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, I specialize in supporting young adults, college students, and LGBTQ+ individuals who are facing these exact struggles. Whether you are feeling stuck, anxious, or unsure of your next steps, you are not alone—and you do not have to figure it out by yourself. My approach is collaborative and tailored to your unique needs. I do not believe in one-size-fits-all therapy or positioning myself as the expert with all the answers. Instead, I see our work together as a partnership—one where we explore your strengths, clarify your goals, and build a path toward the life you want to live. In our first few sessions, we will focus on building trust and identifying what you hope to gain from therapy. I offer a welcoming, non-judgmental space where you can show up exactly as you are. Together, we will create a personalized roadmap that honors your values, experiences, and aspirations. I am looking forward to meeting you!
