I specialize in working with young adults navigating anxiety, people-pleasing, perfectionism and relationship challenges. You might be feeling overwhelmed or disconnected, even if things look “fine” on the outside. Maybe you find yourself constantly taking care of others while your own needs go unmet. My goal is to offer a space where you feel seen and supported as you explore patterns that are keeping you stuck and reconnect with what matters most to you.

Currently offering in-person and virtual sessions for clients in Massachusetts and virtual-only sessions for clients in New York. As a dedicated therapist specializing in complex trauma and identity development, I am committed to creating a culturally sensitive, collaborative, non-judgmental, and engaging therapeutic space for my clients. Utilizing IFS and other trauma-focused modalities, I believe every individual possesses the innate potential to heal from their deepest wounds. Whether you face issues with boundaries, repeat behavior patterns, or have experienced complex PTSD or relational trauma, I am here to support your journey toward healing. In our work together, I will create a compassionate space to explore parts of yourself that carry shame or may have been dismissed or invalidated. I am attuned to your emotional needs and skilled in asking thoughtful questions that deepen your self-understanding. My goal is to help you lead an integrated life with courage, confidence, and clarity. Clients describe therapy with me as “deeply impactful,” with lasting benefits. I believe in everyone’s capacity to heal, even when the path seems unclear. Embarking on this journey of self-discovery can bring profound changes in how you connect with yourself, in relationships, and with the world around you. Take the first step and embrace the growth ahead.

Therapy approach A relationship between you and your therapist is a primary ingredient fostering meaningful change and personal growth. My approach is warm, open, and empathic. I listen deeply and engage actively as is helpful. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe to be your authentic self, free from judgment. You decide whether this is a comfortable setting for you to grow. I am a psychotherapist (LCSW) with a PhD and advanced training from a four-year psychotherapy institute. While I have had the privilege of working with individuals across the lifespan, a majority of my clients have been college age through young career adults. They come from diverse cultural, gender, ethnic, religious, and spiritual backgrounds. I have supported them through challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, often related to issues of this age group: life transitions, family issues, career decisions, dating, parenting, identity, and loss. I draw from a psychodynamic perspective to understand your unique story, while incorporating therapeutic approaches that seem to us to be most helpful for you. Therapy focus I see therapy as a journey we take together. You bring your unique situation and goals. I provide travel skills based on having taken journeys with others. I have never, however, been to your desired destination. You determine the direction and duration of therapy; only you can decide what to focus on and when you feel ready to move forward. While present-day concerns may be paramount, exploring your past can provide valuable insight into your current situation. I interact with you to ensure I understand what you are saying and to help you more fully express your thoughts and feelings. I use a variety of techniques to assist in therapy including role play, homework, journaling, naming aspects of the self, labeling thoughts that are helpful or not to increase your skills in desired areas and decrease those that prevent progress to your goal. All feelings including tears, anger, joy, and laughter can be part of our work together. Communication style I like a relaxed atmosphere that allows us to communicate easily. I am curious. I like to listen. I like to smile but I am also serious. I reflect back to you what I think you are telling me, ask some questions to ensure that I more fully understand what you are saying, encourage you to delve deeper, and wonder with you about when your goals and your actions do not seem aligned. I get to know you not only by what you say but by feelings that may emanate from you. I am comfortable with a broad range of feelings. I support strength and empowerment. I encourage you to let me know what interaction with me is helpful to you and what is not helpful. My goal is to offer a compassionate, thoughtful space where you feel heard and supported. Therapy Goals My goal for you is that you can live fully in the present, understand aspects of your past as they impact the present, and move forward on a path that is best for you. You can let go of people, situations and thought patterns that are not helpful. You can seek and find people and situations that will support you. You can find satisfaction in life and laughter even though everything will not be perfect and parts of life could remain difficult. Our first session After an initial conversation to help us get to know each other, our work together begins. You share the concerns that brought you to therapy, current life situations, and relevant history. I seek to understand what you are telling me as you begin to develop goals for therapy. You let me know how I could be most helpful to you. We begin to explore avenues to your goals and how to measure the progress you seek. This conversation expands over sessions as you feel more comfortable in therapy and as aspects of your life become clearer to you. At the end of this initial session, you can assess whether we could work well together.

Maybe you’ve been the “easy kid” — the one who doesn’t make waves, keeps it together, and takes care of everyone else. On the outside, you look fine. Inside, you feel unseen, weighed down, or like no one really gets you. I’m Citlali (seet-la-lee), but most call me Lali (like lollipop) a therapist who helps young adults with parents who can’t always show up emotionally. In therapy, you don’t have to pretend or be “the strong one.” This is a space just for you — to talk about what’s real, to figure out who you are, and to feel supported instead of alone. Reach out to schedule your free 15 minute intro call to see if we're a good fit together! I look forward to connecting soon :)

Therapy is a place to slow down, reflect, and begin creating change that feels sustainable and real. Whether you’re navigating academic pressure, career stress, relationship challenges, family dynamics, or questions of identity and self-worth, we meet you where you are and help you move forward with clarity and support.

I have worked with individuals of all ages and backgrounds, from all walks of life. My most recent work with clients has targeted anxiety, depression, self esteem, relationship/interpersonal challenges, and school/work stress. I have also worked with couples and families looking to restore peace and balance in their homes. My approach is both exploratory/insight-oriented and solution-focused. Men need help too. Are you struggling with big transitions in your life? Having difficulty calming intense emotions or just struggling to navigate the day to day? Life can be filled with challenges and disappointments that impact our state of mind, (our brain?), and our capacity to manage everyday tasks. If this is you, I would love to help you learn ways to understand and cope with these big and challenging moments. Therapy is a healing process and together we can process emotions, create small, realistic changes, and help you become more confident in everyday life. My aim is to create a comfortable and accepting environment, and a space for you to feel supported. Throughout this process we will also explore how our brain and mind are impacted by significant events in our lives. This approach will allow us to redefine not only how you view yourself but even the world around you! With the incorporation of mindfulness, meditation, and a person-centered approach we can take this journey together. Please feel free to contact me to schedule a free 15 minute phone consultation or to answer any questions. You are never alone on this journey. I look forward to hearing from you.
