I am a licensed clinical social worker in private practice where I see adults and adolescents. I am here to support and encourage you to reach life goals that will enhance your overall feelings of peace, joy and belonging. I provide a safe and nurturing environment that enhances the therapeutic process and encourages my clients to identify their strengths and embrace positive change. My therapy model is based on Aaron T. Beck's development of cognitive behavioral therapy. This approach identifies the distortions in our way of thinking that drives our emotions and behaviors. By identifying distortions and redefining them we can than choose an emotion and behavior and feeling that fits our new way of thinking. My goal is to provide a therapy model that incorporates mind, body and soul wellness. I am presently accepting new patients and I am credentialed through most of the major insurance plans. Please reach out by email when possible.

I love working with clients who want to better themselves. Whether it be understanding yourself or your identity, conquering anxiety, or working through relationships, I partner with clients to reach their goals and set themselves up for success. Some mental health concerns that I can help with include: ADHD, anxiety, trauma, relationships, life transitions, identity (including LGBT, religion, and others), imposter syndrome, and more. Clients can expect a younger therapist who isn’t afraid to use humor and who isn’t afraid to call out potential stuck points. I am also culturally competent and offer services in both English and Spanish.

I'm glad that you've found your way to my profile! I'm providing online individual therapy and group therapy to adults anywhere in the state of Pennsylvania. I have worked with college students for the last 7 years and work hard to help students on their journey of healing to help set them up for success and fulfillment in the future. I work with most mental health concerns but specialize in trauma recovery and working with LGBTQIA+ identified individuals. Please see my website for more in depth information about me and my work. Note that my fees are listed as my general fee but I offer a sliding scale for those who would have difficulty in being able to pay for sessions given that I don't take insurance and am private pay only.

Charlie Health is a virtual behavioral health program for adolescents and young adults with moderate or severe mental health concerns or co-occurring substance use or eating disorders. Designed to meet the needs of those who require more than weekly therapy, our program combines curated group therapy, individual therapy, and family therapy into personalized treatment programs. We are helping to serve those who are in crisis, or have been historically underserved, by eliminating the most significant treatment barriers: geographical and financial access. We work with nearly all commercial insurance nationwide and have no waitlist, thereby helping people access quality, evidence-based care regardless of insurance, location, or other barriers.

I aim to create a safe and welcoming environment where my clients can feel comfortable sharing their life stressors and experiences. My goal is to meet my client where they are, as every person and their experiences are different and should be treated as such. I work to provide a collaborative approach to treatment with my clients by developing goals that address their needs and what they hope to achieve in therapy. I provide counseling services to teens and adults from the ages of 14 and up. The majority of my clients experience anxiety, depression, relationship issues, grief and loss, sexuality, or gender identity issues. My primary treatment modalities are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Brief Solution Focused Psychotherapy and Acceptance and Committment Therapy.

I have immediate openings for adults and adolescents. Private pay only and I offer flexible scale pricing for those who wish to use it. Do you find yourself wondering why everyone else has it figured out and not you? Why is it so hard to get and stay on top of tasks and goals? Maybe you struggle getting to class on time or staying motivated on semester-long projects. Maybe you notice your relationships are all struggling but you're not sure why. These are common concerns for folks with ADHD and/or challenges with executive functioning. My work centers on helping clients identify their specific barriers and using evidence-based techniques to overcome challenges and meet your academic, professional, and relationship goals. I may have opening starting January 2023. I value working collaboratively with clients to identify their struggles and strengths. I use a mix of warmth, honesty, humility, and humor to help clients discover their authentic selves, as I believe contact with our genuine thoughts, feelings, and needs best inform our approach to our problems. I strive to create a safe and brave environment in therapy where clients can feel empowered, particularly those that have felt criticized or marginalized by their families, communities, or even themselves. In psychology terms, I have an integrative approach using a mixture of CBT, humanistic therapy, and brief dynamic psychotherapy. I believe happiness is not something received or achieved, but the byproduct of ongoing, deliberate effort to be who you really are.

Welcome! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who works with adults navigating life transitions, anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma, particularly experiences related to family of origin and attachment. While I work with adults of all ages, I have a special interest in supporting emerging adults - including college, graduate, and medical students - as they manage the emotional and relational challenges that can arise during these stages of life. I support clients in addressing current life challenges while also seeking to answer questions about why these challenges exist in the first place. I do this through a collaborative, relational, and trauma-informed approach that blends deeper insight with practical support. Drawing from psychodynamic and attachment-based work, along with CBT, DBT, and mindfulness, I help clients understand patterns, regulate emotions, and build skills that support meaningful, lasting change. Starting therapy can feel uncertain, and it’s completely normal to have questions or mixed emotions. Please know you don’t have to figure it out on your own. I aim to create a space where you feel safe, supported, and understood. If you’re considering therapy, I invite you to reach out to see if we would be a good fit.

If you need mental health support, you shouldn’t have to worry about your therapist judging you or making you feel uncomfortable. You are the expert in who you are, and I do my best to learn from my clients and provide a safe space to address whatever you’re going through. I frequently use cognitive behavioral, insight oriented, and emotions focused interventions within session. I’m also trained and certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) which is frequently used to address trauma but is also helpful in reducing the distress experienced around any negative thought and replacing it with a healthier/adaptive thought. I appreciate that I can’t be a good fit for everyone, so I welcome consultation calls to explore if my approach to counseling would be supportive to what you’re looking for within therapy.

If life has been feeling stuck, confusing, or overwhelming, let’s slow things down together. I'm here to listen closely to your lived experience and the stories that have shaped it. My work is grounded in narrative therapy, which means we will pay attention to how problems have come to influence your life and how your preferred values and hopes might guide us forward. We'll stay close to what matters most to you, exploring what you want your life to stand for and supporting steps that move you closer to that direction, one conversation at a time. My approach is collaborative, with your voice guiding what feels most important. I ask questions that invite reflection and new possibilities, and I'm transparent about my thinking. If you want therapy that feels human, thoughtful, and respectful of your context, we may be a good fit. If you would like to see whether we fit, reach out through the contact options on this page. You can share a sentence or two about what you want help with, along with any scheduling needs. I'll respond with what I can offer and what next steps could look like.

Mental health is the foundation of everything: our health, happiness, success, and sense of community. As a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, I use evidence based treatments and a holistic approach to help support individuals navigating mental health challenges. My education at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) and my 6 years of practice at the Center for Hope and Health have provided invaluable experience and specialized training using CBT interventions to treat anxiety, depression, OCD, eating disorders, and trauma-stressor related disorders. I am trained in a variety of evidence based models including Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for Eating Disorders, and Prolonged Exposure for PTSD, which enhances my ability to provide targeted interventions for clients. I am committed to providing an empathetic and warm approach to therapy coupled with evidence based techniques in order to create a safe and supportive environment for clients to explore their thoughts and feelings, build resilience, and to heal. I look forward to connecting with you!

I specialize in the treatment of anxiety and stress reduction, but also help people with: anger, depression, phobias, OCD, addiction, PTSD, relationship difficulties, spiritual/existential crises, panic attacks, ADHD, chronic medical conditions (gastric, migraines, tinnitus, POTS, etc.), and many other problems. Very often, symptoms and issues overlap and are correlated. When you work with me, we will collaborate to focus on the challenging areas of your life, manage stresses from your environment and body, and develop strategies to overcome unhelpful patterns of thought and behavior. Through this work it will be possible to experience relief, become happier, and evolve as a person. While I prefer to see clients in my office, I also provide online therapy on a HIPAA compliant video platform. When we first meet, we'll discuss your history and your concerns. We'll articulate goals for your treatment and establish a clear direction aimed at the outcomes you are hoping for. It will also be an opportunity for you to ask questions and feel comfortable in the work we will soon embark upon.

Greetings! I’m glad that you’re here. I’m a clinical psychologist licensed to practice in Massachusetts and Pennsylvania, and I provide psychotherapy to adults (18+) through secure video calls. My approach as a therapist is integrative, relationship-oriented, and social-justice informed. I specialize in working with undergraduate/graduate students, young adults, and early career/emerging professionals who are interested in exploring relationship problems, family-of-origin concerns, power and privilege dynamics, self-compassion, grief, and caregiving tendencies. I work with folks who are yearning for deeper connection to others or themselves. We all long for connection, while also fearing it. I encourage my clients to bring all parts of themselves into our work together. Come as you are! I believe in the folks I work with, and I believe in the transformative power of relationships, community, and connection to heal. To schedule a free, no-obligation 15-minute phone consultation, please contact me via email (dralvarezcounseling@protonmail.com) or phone (305-699-2024).
