I work with individuals and couples/relationships that are dealing with stress, anxiety, perfectionism and people-pleasing, are struggling to figure out where they fit in the world, or who just need a place to be heard as their authentic selves. Many of my clients are those who have sit and stew in their thoughts for hours, who feel like they must be the only ones who are "this" anxious, and who can't seem to get to a place of "calm" - like, ever. I believe that by working together, we CAN shift those patterns. I've seen it - in myself and in my clients - and I already believe in you.
On our journey it can be helpful to have someone to help us see the narratives that often define our lives. Some of those narratives keep us from experiencing what we want for ourselves now and in the future. Since graduating with a Masters in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology in 2010, I have been working as a therapist with people in various stages of life. A relationship between a therapist and client can provide someone with a deep reflection of how they live and are experienced. I believe therapy can give us the opportunity to rediscover our story in a new way. Real change is possible and the therapeutic relationship is one of the ways to cultivate that change. Areas of experience and interests: ADHD, adults, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, family of origin concerns, grief and loss, life transitions, mother abandonment, parenting, sexuality, sexual and physical trauma, trauma recovery Fee: I offer a sliding scale fee Insurances Accepted: United Healthcare, UPMC, Cigna, Highmark Therapeutic Style: Relational Psychotherapy, Narrative Therapy, Trauma-Informed, Family Systems Contact Autumn directly at 412-606-1887 or autumnkrusebrownlee@gmail.com
If you are struggling to get up in the morning, overwhelmed by feelings of depression or anxiety, or have feelings of general dissatisfaction with your life, then I'd like to offer you relief. The number one most reliable predictor of a positive outcome to therapy is the quality of the relationship between therapist and client. I am an experienced therapist with a warm and dedicated approach to developing a collaborative and working relationship with you.
7/22/26-Accepting new clients. I provide clinically grounded support to individuals, couples, and people of all backgrounds navigating relationship or personal challenges. My approach combines practical tools with a warm, nonjudgmental space to explore needs, strengthen connection, and build healthier, more fulfilling relationships. I meet people where they are and guide progress in a way that works for them. I take a direct, down to earth style and incorporate humor when it fits, helping you feel comfortable, understood, and motivated to make real change. I focus on both your present concerns and the deeper experiences that have shaped you. In a supportive, collaborative relationship, we’ll explore patterns with curiosity and understanding, supporting your natural capacity for growth and greater self-awareness. I have extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in school-based, home-based, outpatient, IOP, MST, and partial hospitalization settings. I have worked with juvenile probation & men at a state prison for six years, addressing challenges such as sexual and violent offenses, domestic abuse, substance use, and related behaviors. I am open and affirming of individuals of every background, race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, and gender identity.
If you need mental health support, you shouldn’t have to worry about your therapist judging you or making you feel uncomfortable. You are the expert in who you are, and I do my best to learn from my clients and provide a safe space to address whatever you’re going through. I frequently use cognitive behavioral, insight oriented, and emotions focused interventions within session. I’m also trained and certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) which is frequently used to address trauma but is also helpful in reducing the distress experienced around any negative thought and replacing it with a healthier/adaptive thought. I appreciate that I can’t be a good fit for everyone, so I welcome consultation calls to explore if my approach to counseling would be supportive to what you’re looking for within therapy.
If life has been feeling stuck, confusing, or overwhelming, let’s slow things down together. I'm here to listen closely to your lived experience and the stories that have shaped it. My work is grounded in narrative therapy, which means we will pay attention to how problems have come to influence your life and how your preferred values and hopes might guide us forward. We'll stay close to what matters most to you, exploring what you want your life to stand for and supporting steps that move you closer to that direction, one conversation at a time. My approach is collaborative, with your voice guiding what feels most important. I ask questions that invite reflection and new possibilities, and I'm transparent about my thinking. If you want therapy that feels human, thoughtful, and respectful of your context, we may be a good fit. If you would like to see whether we fit, reach out through the contact options on this page. You can share a sentence or two about what you want help with, along with any scheduling needs. I'll respond with what I can offer and what next steps could look like.

I believe that therapy is a partnership. You and I will work together in helping you make progress achieving your goals. My purpose is to have you walk out of a session feeling better than when you first arrived. This is serious work, yet I believe as with all things in life, laughter should be a key component of therapy!! I stay cognizant of the fact that therapy is a time commitment, a financial commitment, and especially, an emotional commitment. Something feels off, and you can't quite name it. You're doing everything you were supposed to do, but the life you're living doesn't feel fully like yours. You look around and it seems like everyone else found their footing, their person, their purpose. And quietly, you've started to wonder: Why not me? What am I missing? The gap between where you are and where you thought you'd be by now can feel like failure, even when, logically, you know it isn't. You're measuring yourself against a timeline you didn't write, comparing your insides to everyone else's outsides, and coming up short every time. The loneliness isn't just about being single or not having the career you wanted. It's the disconnection from yourself, from knowing who you are and what you actually want, separate from what you were always told to want. You don't need to have it all figured out. But you do deserve to feel at home in your own life, curious about where you're going rather than ashamed of where you are. You deserve to trust yourself again. I work with women who are navigating that in-between, exploring who they are, longing for real connection, and untangling the anxiety that comes with feeling behind. Together, we'll loosen the grip of comparison, get clear on what you actually value, and help you build a life that feels genuinely yours, not a performance of what it was supposed to look like. I offer online therapy in North Carolina and Pennsylvania. If this sounds like you, please reach out to schedule a free 15 minute consultation!

I believe therapy works best as a safe and supportive partnership. Through a trusted therapeutic relationship, I aim to create a space where you can gain insight into the areas that may be keeping you stuck. I see every client as more than a diagnosis and strive to meet you where you are while guiding you toward meaningful change. I have extensive experience working with adolescents, college students, and young adults facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, relationship struggles, and life transitions. I support clients as they navigate overwhelming emotions and worries, attention and executive functioning challenges, identity exploration, interpersonal struggles, and adapting to adulthood. Together, we’ll set goals that fit your unique needs and work to build insight, healthier patterns, and practical skills that reduce stress and support a more fulfilling life. My approach blends evidence-based therapies—including CBT, DBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, TF-CBT, and Structural Family Therapy—with compassion and care, tailoring strategies to each individual. I welcome feedback on which interventions you find most helpful and adapt sessions to ensure your needs are met. It’s a privilege to do this work, and I look forward to supporting you on your journey.
