I've served college students in the university setting for over 20 years, as an academic advisor and counselor on multiple campuses. I have specific experience working with students to help them navigate personal, academic, career, social, stress, wellness, and relationship issues. I have enjoyed particularly assisting students in exploring their identities, managing stress, creating successful academic and experiential strategies and schedules, motivation, selecting a major, deciding up on a career focus, addressing anxiety and depression, navigating life changes, improving relationships, and growing their confidence and self-esteem. I implement practical, goal-oriented treatments such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Client Centered Therapy, and Psychoeducation to help clients recognize thoughts and behaviors that are no longer serving them as they incorporate new strategies for moving forward. I want to enable students to achieve their best potential, question themselves less, and live their most joyful lives.

WARNING: HIGHLY INTERACTIVE THERAPIST! I work with clients 13+ from a wide range of genders and backgrounds. Most of my clients are dealing with some combination of anxiety, depression, relationship stress, or questions about sexuality and gender. Many are coming out of their first big break up or first major loss. I have a particular focus in “men’s” issues, relationships and couples work, and on addressing topics we were never taught to explore — namely sexuality and grief. Some of my clients are deeply religious others are atheists. Some have never dated others are active BDSMers. My style is highly interactive. We’ll work to address faulty beliefs and longstanding BS. Together, we can talk about anything from anxiety to compulsive porn use, from kink to grief. I have a particular focus in “men’s” issues, couples counseling, and grief. I won’t promise you’ll “find happiness.” That would be like trying to sell you keys to your own car. All I promise is to be your teammate. If what you seek is a combination of empathy and strength, a nonjudgmental space, an emphasis on connection over analysis, and a confidant who will not waver then I invite you to book a consultation below.

Therapy is a great tool to explore how your past experiences and early relationships influence your current relationships, symptoms of anxiety, depression, and how you navigate and process feelings. I truly believe the relational component to therapy (relationship between therapist and patient) can bring to light reactions, feelings, and patterns that show up outside of the therapy space. With this, you can begin to gain insight into how these experiences make you feel and make changes that align with your wants and needs. My hope is to create a collaborative, non-judgmental and validating space to allow for exploration of concerns and enable growth. I encourage you to contact me so we can begin to explore what is holding you back from living a more meaningful and fulfilling life.
Hi! My name is Shira Collings (she/they). I specialize in working with clients with eating disorders, disordered eating, body image distress, and those wanting to break free from diet culture. As a diet culture dropout myself, I am passionate about supporting others in finding freedom with food and body acceptance. I am also passionate about working with LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent folks, as well as those with substance use and trauma histories. My therapeutic approach is rooted in the Health At Every Size paradigm and body liberation. It is also informed by feminism, disability justice, and queer and trans liberation. I believe that healing comes from feeling heard, seen, and valued, and I strive to create a space in which clients can express their full, authentic selves. I have training in Motivational Interviewing, Dialectal Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction. I also have a background working in disability and mental health advocacy and regularly incorporate advocacy into the counseling process. Hi-- I am Alaina. I am a therapist with a specialization in the treatment of OCD and other neurodivergent disorders such as ADHD and ASD. I work with clients to access freedom from their anxiety. Through the use of Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), I colloboarte with clients to develop tolerance of their levels of distress. It is never shocking to hear that life is scary and uncertain. I do not aim to expel those fears, but rather help you see that -all feelings- are temporary and in reaching out for help, you are showcasing the very first step in unhooking from fears or core beliefs that prevent you from leading a values driven life.
People are the center of my practice. While I have a wide range of experience and expertise in various techniques, I always take a person-centered approach to therapy. Every individual is unique, and it is important to treat your symptoms, not simply your diagnosis. Sometimes even the most basic and routine challenges of everyday life can seem complex, unpredictable, or even overwhelming. Whether you are suffering from depression, anxiety, grief, or just going through a difficult transition, my goal is to foster a trusting, safe, and confidential environment for you to heal and grow. My philosophy is grounded in self-compassion and connection – that means helping my clients identify their strengths and learn resilience. Together, we can help you navigate life’s struggles and crises, emerging stronger, healthier, and more confident in yourself and your abilities. As a therapist, it is my responsibility to deliver compassionate, safe, and productive therapy that gives people real tools to create sustainable and lasting change in their lives. I believe that people heal most effectively when they feel empowered to regain control of their lives and confidence in themselves. My goal is to help clients create a sense of self-awareness in order to understand the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.
