I work with clients who feel stuck—whether that’s in their relationships, thoughts, careers, or life in general. My goal is to help you feel less stuck by providing collaborative, direct support focused on problem-solving and implementing lasting solutions. I believe therapy should help you gain insight into who you are at your core while also building the tools you need to face challenges with confidence. In our sessions, you’ll find a warm inviting space where I’ll be honest and hold you accountable to your goals. I aim to cultivate a healthy sense of challenge that encourages you to work toward meaningful change. My hope is that you’ll feel grounded and supported as we tackle life’s difficulties together.

I am a licensed clinical social worker with extensive experience on staff in college counseling centers and in private practice. I work to form a trusting relationship with students so that they have a safe space to work through the challenges they are facing. As a member of the LGBTQ community, I am especially focused on providing inclusive, affirming care for students whose identities may not be represented or supported as well as they could be in the available campus resources - whether that be by virtue of sexuality and gender, or other facets of life experience. If you are feeling stuck academically or socially, struggling with mood or anxiety, trying to figure out who you are and your place at school and at home - I am here to help you find your way through it.

When I retired from professional ballet, I attended Princeton University for my undergraduate studies. I started going to therapy and found it helped me participate more fully in my life and find more joy in my experience of college. My interest in mental health led me to study social work at the University of Pennsylvania, followed by sport psychology in Scotland, as a Fulbright scholar. I enjoy working with a variety of people, including athletes/artists/performers navigating transitions and retirement.

The Counseling Corner is a group of dedicated clinicians who take pride in providing quality mental health care. As a mental health practice, we assist members by providing therapy to a wide array of people who are in pursuit of happiness. Our team is comprised of exceptional clinicians with a variety of specialties to ensure we give you the best support possible. From our founder: I wanted to take a moment to share something deeply personal and meaningful to me. At 23, I faced an unimaginable loss when I lost my mother to alcohol addiction. It was a painful journey that led me to struggle with my own mental health for nearly a decade. During that time, I often searched for a purpose and a way to turn my pain into something positive. Today, I’m proud to announce that I’ve opened this mental health practice. We are building a team of incredible clinicians, each of whom shares a commitment to help others navigate difficult times and find hope and healing. Our goal is to create a safe space where people can feel understood, supported, and empowered on their journey to wellness. We’re here to save lives and help individuals reclaim their strength. If you or someone you know is looking for support, please reach out. Thank you for allowing me to share this journey with you. Whether you are living in physical pain or emotional pain, we will work together to help you sleep better, decrease pain, improve relationships, get "unstuck" and feel happier. One of our greatest goals as clinicians is treating you with the support and care you deserve. We not only want to help you feel better, we want to help you live better and move out of negative patterns of behavior that do not serve you. We work from an integrative perspective, meaning that we have been trained in a wide variety of psychological techniques and will combine them to help you achieve your goals. We will teach you to use the tools that help you most, so that you can continue to work with these techniques on your own, once you have completed therapy. And that sense of independence and control you gain over your own life, that will feel truly fulfilling!

Hello! I'm Erika (they/them/theirs), and I am passionate about helping adults with ADHD move from feeling stuck, ashamed, and discouraged, to curious and engaged with life. I use a combination of Internal Family Systems (IFS), ADHD Coaching, and embodied creative practices (rooted in my training as a Dance/Movement Therapist), based on the needs of each client. These tools help us to untangle deeply rooted patterns, and build systems that you enjoy and that help you succeed. Additionally, I love supporting people who are neurodivergent and exploring or struggling with their gender identity or sexuality.

We all experience times of change, transition, and stress that can affect mood and anxiety. I offer an active, collaborative working relationship grounded in respect, transparency, and a deep desire to help clients heal and grow. Clients have remarked that I am particularly skilled in helping them navigate and grow through life transitions and take responsibility for and develop ways of coping and responding to life stresses that honor their multiple and intersecting identities and values, while also encouraging them to stretch, consider, and apply new perspectives and skills. I have over 25 years of experience as a therapist in a university counseling center and have extensive experience with undergraduate and graduate students. I am committed to helping people create and sustain a satisfying and purposeful life. With the intention of helping them move toward a greater sense of overall well-being, I enjoy working with clients around life transitions, career exploration, identity exploration, managing societally induced stress particularly related to marginalized identities, and those experiencing concerns related to career and work. I have extensive training and experience with mindfulness and integrate that into my therapeutic work. Beyond therapy, I provide Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction courses and mindfulness-based classes for groups. Please contact me to schedule a free, 15-minute phone conversation so we can talk more about what he's looking for, I can explain more about my practice, and we can see if it mutually feels like a good fit to take the next step and schedule an initial meeting.

In today's world, it can be extremely challenging to feel truly and simply happy. The desire to know and to be known is a normal human experience. I value the trauma-informed safety and client-centered connection we collaboratively create through a systematic lens. I am particularly sensitive to diversity in culture and self-identity, including with respect to race, gender and sexuality. I believe the importance of affirming the unique individual experience with cultural humility. Through compassion, sensitivity, and empowerment, we will work together respectfully to acknowledge vulnerability, unearth patterns, attend complexity, and gain ownership change to achieve the most authentic and expansive self. I have experience working with trauma, depression, anxiety, substance use, life transition challenges, self-esteem, relationship issues including intimate partner violence, and immigration matter. I approach this work holistically with warmth, empathy, and ever developing curiosity. It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first step towards change. It takes intentions to create the time and space to understand and explore ways to navigate the situation we are in. If you would like to explore what that looks like, I am here to support and empower you.

"Why now?" is a question I often ask at the beginning of therapy. Some people come in the aftermath of a personal or relationship crisis, some seek relief for old pain, others simply feel certain that its time for a change. My work is well-suited for people experiencing anger, grief, compassion fatigue, trauma reactivity, anxiety, depression, patterns of conflict and concerns of purpose and identity. I'm not overwhelmed by strong feelings or complex struggles. Whatever reason you may have to begin therapy, we'll work together to find the heart of the matter and what might help. My process is insight-oriented and collaborative but I'll tell you what I think. Clients have appreciated my warmth, directness and cultural competency. Some have stayed with me for years or returned after long breaks. I've had success connecting with adolescents and people who feel ambivalent about therapy. I'm deeply curious about how each of my clients experiences the world and I'll be glad to meet you. Reach out, and we can see if we might work well together.

I'm a trauma therapist offering online therapy to college students throughout Pennsylvania. My specialty is IFS-informed EMDR: EMDR helps your brain reprocess painful memories so they lose their grip on the present, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) brings compassion to the parts of you that learned to protect you in hard times. Together, they let us work through trauma at a pace that feels safe — without having to retell your story over and over. Many of the students I work with are carrying more than a heavy course load: childhood wounds, anxiety that won't switch off, depression, ADHD, or the pressure of holding it all together far from home. Therapy with me is a place where all of that can be looked at without judgment. I believe we can let go of our past and accept ourselves as we are — and that self-acceptance is the first step toward change. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor, certified in EMDR (EMDRIA) and trained in IFS (IFS Institute) and DBT, with a master's in Counseling Psychology from Temple University and eight years of practice. Sessions are $185 with sliding-scale spots available, and I provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement. I offer a free 20-minute consultation — reach out and let's see if we're a good fit.
