Our practice specializes in working with challenges related to trauma and attachment, both in childhood and adulthood. This includes sexual/relationship violence, family of origin challenges (including ACOA issues), and childhood abuse and neglect. This also includes supporting young adults in understanding their own attachment patterns and gaining insight into their patterns in order to increase their ability to find, seek out, and maintain healthy relationships. We offer EMDR and many other trauma modalities.
Hi! My name is Emma and I’m a white, queer, cis femme millennial therapist. I know that’s a lot of descriptors, but social identity is core to my therapy practice. I believe that our social identities, along with our personal histories and relationships, shape our experience of the world. I’m a relational psychotherapist, which means I’m interested in your relationships and how they shape your life. This also means that our therapeutic relationship is the main tool for your growth and healing. When you feel heard and validated, it gives you the foundation to build healthy relationships with yourself and others. I’m not the kind of therapist who sits back and scribbles on a notepad. I believe that you’re the expert of your life and I’m here to support you—to hold the map, flashlight, and the bag of snacks. In my pre-therapist former life, I was a teaching artist, workshop facilitator, and nonprofit program coordinator. My academic journey focused on intersectional queer and feminist theory, history, and literature. I’ve also been active in organizing around racial and economic issues in my communities. I’m kink positive, fat positive, and pleasure positive. I affirm poly and queer identities. I believe white supremacy and internalized capitalism dehumanize us, and therapy is a space to name, process, and grieve these impacts. I might be the right therapist for you if: - you have anxiety and/or depression -you identify as LGBTQ or navigating questions around these identities -you struggle in relationships with family, friends, or partners, particularly around boundaries -you have experienced trauma -you navigate challenges around body image and self-esteem I also offer a free video consultation to see if we’re the right fit. Feel free to reach out if you’d like to take the next step!
Going to college is the hugest leap you may ever take! It is the end of childhood and the beginning of adulthood, all starting with leaving everyone and everywhere you've known for 18 years and finding yourself in a new, strange place, away from your friends, your family, your pets, your school and your stuff that all gave you comfort. You have to learn how to DO college, make new friends, study for college exams, write excellent papers, focus on preparation for a lifelong career, negotiate sexual situations, plentiful drugs and booze. It is exciting and amazing and anxiety producing and overwhelming at times. Problems DO manage to follow you to college, like focus or learning issues, family dysfunction, reactions to STRESS! Therapy is helpful in being able to talk through all of these experiences and feelings, strategizing to get a better sense of control. We specialize in reducing anxiety, depression, panic disorders, social anxiety and shyness, study inhibition, relationship issues, eating disorders and STRESS! All sexual orientations and ethnicities welcomed.
Most people in your life would be surprised to know that you have internal struggles because you hide it well, but deep down inside you feel unfulfilled and unhappy. While some areas of your life are good, other areas never seem to improve no matter how hard you work on them. There seems to be this pattern of behavior that constantly gets in your way. It appears as if something is always holding you back, you feel stuck and unsure of how to move forward. You want to learn how to love and accept yourself and improve the quality of your relationships, starting with the relationship with yourself. We will work together to help you develop healthy habits and new ways of thinking. My goal is to partner with you as you become more self-aware, confident, and courageous. I am passionate about helping you to create a more loving and helpful attitude towards yourself and others so that you can have the life you dream of.
College can be a time of fun and excitement, but it can also be a time of stress and anxiety. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist here at Village Therapy Practice, LLC who works hard to help clients (individuals, couples, and families) feel heard, understood, and validated. Using a systemic approach, I help each of my clients identify the underlying root cause of their struggles- such as depression, anxiety, adjustment, or relationship issues- and work to change the unhealthy patterns that keep them stuck in conflict. As a Penn State graduate myself (We Are!), I would love the opportunity to walk along students through this important journey!
Jude is a master’s level clinician, nationally certified and a licensed Professional Counselor. He is also a certified EMDR clinician specializing in helping and supporting adults with symptoms associated with anxiety, depression, PTSD and trauma-related challenges. His approach is simple: “making humans feel humane”. He utilizes evidence-based interventions like person-centered approaches, CBT and OARS among others to make healing a holistic approach while bringing meaning to every encounter. By focusing on the whole person, rather than just their symptoms, Okeke ensures that clients receive comprehensive care that addresses their physical, emotional, and psychological needs. This holistic approach fosters long-term well-being and helps individuals build resilience against future challenges. It also allows for more personalized treatment plans.

Navigating the complexities of being human can be as rewarding as it is complicated. Our journeys are filled with moments that require us to muster resilience, practice self-compassion, and foster hope—even when the path seems unclear. It's not uncommon to find ourselves ensnared in cycles of negative thinking that foster shame, grappling with emotional regulation that impacts our relationships, or struggling to stay anchored in the present, affecting our decision-making abilities. At K & K Holistic Counseling, we are dedicated to guiding you through these challenges, helping you cultivate a life of significance and joy. Our mission is to offer a therapeutic environment that is both welcoming and collaborative, focusing on the individual as a whole rather than a constellation of symptoms. With our expertise in DBT, Person-Centered Therapy, and trauma-informed approaches, we partner with you to set and achieve goals that resonate with your deepest values. If you are prepared to embark on a journey toward breaking free from counterproductive cycles and embracing a more fulfilled existence, we invite you to connect with us.

Trauma Healing takes time and patience, and for a lot of us with Complex Trauma, this may be something we continually manage as life ebbs and flows. However, it doesn’t have to be a life-long pattern of pain and feeling constantly dysregulated. I invite you to feel within that fear/ anxiety/ dysregulation and make meaning from it. I support folx to heal deep emotional wounds that come from past anxiety, trauma, stress and help them hone-in on their inner experience as a means to gain insight. I offer individual sessions in person and via telehealth (please inquire about current COVID protocols and if in-person sessions are currently being held). My general goal for folx is to help them identify what they need so that they are able to continue on their healing journey, eventually, without my support. I do this by helping you to cultivate self-awareness and expose you to a variety of coping skills. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming, anti-racist, anti-fascist, and inclusive in my approach.
We’re glad that you’re here! We understand that for many, reaching out is a difficult thing. Know that in doing so, you are one step closer to experiencing the benefits that therapy can offer. Our mission is to empower you to face challenges with greater confidence and ease. We would love the opportunity to connect and see if our practice would be a good fit. Do emotions hit you like a tidal wave, or are you often stuck between feeling like you’re “too much” or “not enough”? Maybe you’re struggling to understand who you are or feel numb and disconnected from the world around you. Despite your best attempts at supporting yourself, are you still feeling stuck, anxious, and lonely? I can help you move towards a more peaceful and fulfilling life. As a therapist, I aim to help you understand your emotional patterns, strengthen your relationships, and feel more anchored in yourself. I work best with people who are seeking a cohesive sense of self, especially those who experience intense emotions, identity challenges, and the impacts of trauma. Much of my clinical experience has been working with college aged individuals. I have an affinity for working with neurodivergent individuals and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. My primary orientation is psychodynamic therapy. I also utilize Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and hold advanced training in the Flash Technique. My clinical interests include codependency, C-PTSD, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, body image, and disordered eating. I am Poly/Kink affirming and my approach aligns with the principles of Health at Every Size (HAES). In our sessions, we will explore how early experiences and relationships have shaped how you see yourself and others. I believe that true healing happens in the context of a safe and authentic relationship with a shared sense of purpose. My approach is collaborative, open, and direct. Together we’ll create a space where you can learn to unmask, explore, grow, and connect with your true self.
We all hope to be happy, feel fulfilled, be at peace and enjoy our days. We want to feel that our life has meaning and purpose and we strive for that in our relationships and other areas of life. We want to be free from chronic worry, negative thinking, disturbing emotions, painful memories, and behaviors and relationships that interfere with peace in the present moment and beyond. Suffering is a part of life--it is inevitable. Healing is about moving through and beyond suffering and limitation, transforming pain and suffering into personal power. Our focus will be to move fully into a happy and fulfilling life, whatever that might mean to you.
