Welcome! I am a Judi Yapias board-certified Licensed Professional Counselor, and I specialize in intergenerational trauma and understanding how trauma and stress affect the body. To better understand what your body is signaling, I integrate modalities in my practice such as mindfulness-based therapy, somatic techniques, and trauma-conscious approaches. This is an impactful approach to better understanding big and uncomfortable emotions, what the body is communicating, and those teeny, tiny voices of intuition telling us something is off. My goal is to help you begin the process of understanding and connecting with yourself on a deeper level. We’ll work on building trust between your head and heart and explore all the things about your life - cultural identity, relationships, behaviors, values, feelings, and belief systems. Together, we’ll create a foundation that empowers you to feel more integrated and aligned. Specialties Mental Health Conditions treated Relationship issues Trauma Anxiety ADHD Depression Treatment philosophy Whether you may be experiencing BIG feelings, interpersonal struggles, or wanting to better understand yourself, I am here to support you using a collaborative approach. Through a guided process and integration of mindfulness-based and trauma-conscious approaches, you and I will talk through your lived experiences. Some of these discussions will give you a sense of joy, sadness, frustration, anxiousness, pride, and excitement. As we dig and uncover these stories in a safe space, we often begin a discovery of your strengths and wisdom - from a present you and intergenerational standpoint. This experience is almost like when your body constricts and caves into a discomfort and, once ready to release, it expands and grows. Treatment approach Culturally Sensitive Trauma-Focused Emotionally Focused Mindfulness-Based(MBCT) Cognitive Behavioral Therapy(CBT) Practice description As we get curious about your goals, your story, your values, and your beliefs systems, we process through patterns about how you have survived & protected yourself up until this point and how these patterns affect you and your relationships (familial, platonic, and/or romantic) - looking within ourselves and connecting it to finding our space and belonging in the collective. Throughout this journey, my role is to support you in feeling safe, in a space that prioritizes inclusivity, open-mindedness, and authenticity. The clients I work best with are: 🌱 Overwhelmed high-functioning perfectionists who like bad jokes. 🌱People who are done with dieting because they know it doesn't work even though they wish it did. 🌱Spiritual weirdos who like tarot, manifestations, energy work, and finding balance with the universe 🌱 People who care about everyone else, leaving themselves for last and wanting someone to call them out when it's not working 🌱 People who make jokes about or completely ignore their trauma in order to deal

Welcome — I’m so glad you’re here. I work best with individuals who are navigating the impact of trauma and who are open to exploring how their past continues to live in their body and shape their present. Together, we’ll gently uncover how your experiences have influenced your nervous system, your emotions, and your inner narrative—so that healing can begin not just in the mind, but in the body as well. My therapeutic approach is rooted in the belief that the body holds deep wisdom. Through Somatic Experiencing, mindfulness, yoga, breathwork, and sound therapy, I support clients in reconnecting with their inner guidance system—the intuition that emerges when we truly listen inward. This work can bring about clarity, regulation, and a felt sense of peace that goes beyond intellectual insight. At its core, my work is relational and intuitive. Healing doesn’t happen in isolation; it happens in connection—with self, with body, and with another safe presence. My role is to walk alongside you with compassion, helping you explore your story and reconnect with your innate capacity for resilience and wholeness. If you’re feeling the pull toward deeper healing—toward safety, embodiment, and self-trust—I invite you to schedule a consultation. You don’t have to do this alone.

Hello! I’m Dr. Ryne Pulido. I’m a husband, father, and psychologist in Texas. I’m so excited to help folks build lives experienced as worth living and sharing. I started out as a therapist for children, adolescents, and young adults. Initially, “young adult” referred to college students. Then “young adult” expanded to include medical and law school students. And then it expanded to include early career professionals. Now, it has expanded to early career professionals struggling to #adult. Your struggle is real. Many of my clients struggle with intense emotional pain stemming from feelings of unlovability and fear of rejection. Their pain acts like an emotional dictator that commands them to withdraw from friends, family, work, school, hobbies, passions, interests, and other activities that make life worth living. Increasingly distant from their values (who they want to be deep inside their hearts) and goals (what they want to accomplish), they feel directionless and unsure of their best life because they’re so focused on protecting themselves from emotional pain. If this sounds like you, know it doesn’t have to be this way. You deserve a life worth living and sharing. Imagine what it would be like to control your actions (the things you do and say) amidst an emotional storm. What if you could be the person you want to be and move toward your goals just 20% more often? What would your relationships be like? Where would your career be? How much better would your sleep be?! Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) I utilize a modern form of the tried-and-true Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Although ACT involves a radically new approach to happiness, over 1,000 clinical trials have been published in peer-reviewed journals, demonstrating its effectiveness with diverse populations struggling with a wide range of psychological problems. ACT is focused on creating richer, fuller, and more meaningful lives rather than solely symptom reduction. When your life is bigger, the pain is smaller by comparison. ACT is a very active form of therapy. It’s not just talking about your problems and feelings (although there is always space for that). You will learn practical skills to move from struggling to flourishing. We will move through the program step-by-step, learning skills that build on each other. The good news is the skills are easy to learn and effective. You are headed into the unknown. Unfortunately, counseling and therapy is not 100% effective. Although I accept commercial insurance (if you go through Alma) and the Lotus Fund, the risk of committing time, money, effort, and heart to something that doesn’t work out is very real. I also can’t promise that you won’t feel uncomfortable, judged, and misunderstood, but you will have permission to express yourself and stop anything that is uncomfortable. I’ll listen with an open mind and you’re in the driver’s seat. But you are not alone. It’s your journey, but we’re a team—working together to help you become the person you want to be and build the life you want to live and share. All brains matter. I’ve spent my entire professional career working with neurodivergent folks and their families. I have a special place in my heart for ADHDers, autistics, and people with strong personalities. Are you in Texas, prefer virtual care, and ready to get to work? You can contact me by email (admin@rynepulidophd.com) or by calling or texting 512-537-4743. (Note it can take up to 72 hours for me to return a call, email, or text. If you are in a mental health emergency, call 9-1-1 or go to the nearest ER). …and if you’re sort of ready that’s cool too. Reach out to me to schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation! Need financial help? I offer sliding-scale fee slots via Open Path Collective. These slots are extremely limited, so please get in touch with me before signing up to work with me. I also accept the Lotus Fund via the Asian Mental Health Collective.

College can be a hard transition for some. Making new friends, trying to figure out what you want to study for a career or even navigating the college campus and system. This is also a time where you are leaving a known family system and trying on new thoughts and values. This can all lead to anxiety, depression or stress. I am here to help you navigate this journey with you. I want to give you a safe space to share your struggles, and explore tools that can help you through this time.

College is supposed to be exciting, full of possibility and growth, but it can also feel overwhelming, lonely, and uncertain in ways no one really prepares you for. The pressure to succeed and have everything figured out, adds up. If you’ve been carrying more than you can hold on your own, you don’t have to keep doing it alone. Reaching out doesn’t mean something is wrong with you. It means you’re human—and you deserve support, understanding, and a space where you can finally exhale.

College life can be HARD. Whether you are dealing with depression, anxiety, stress, new life adjustments, or struggling with the unique challenges of college life, we all need support sometimes. I believe that all people have the power within themselves to strive towards positive growth and change when provided with a safe, accepting environment. My approach to counseling focuses on facilitating a strong therapeutic relationship grounded in empathy, genuineness, and unconditional acceptance. I see my clients as collaborative partners, and together we work towards meeting their goals. I specialize in several therapy approaches, and work hard to integrate self exploration, learning new skills and coping techniques, and creative outlets such as expressive arts therapy into the traditional talk therapy model. I have experience working with clients of all ages in a variety of settings, including in schools and private practice. I have also worked with adults in both private practice settings and at the university level at an Autism Support Program. As a person-centered therapist, I trust both in the power of the unconditionally accepting therapeutic relationship, and in my client’s capacity to heal and change. I meet my clients where they are and we will go on a journey towards healing together.
