Therapists for college students near 02155
I enjoy working with students during this time of transition in their lives. Away from home, students must learn to structure their time to study and embark on a social life. This is a good opportunity to develop self-awareness and discover which relationships are best for them. Most of my clients are creative: writers, musicians, actors, artists, photography, and film. Many are introverts and/or highly sensitive people. I help them embrace their introversion as a gift rather than a liability.
Trying to hold it together in college can be exhausting. If anxiety is constant, your focus is shot, your mood feels unpredictable, or you’re wondering why everything feels harder than it should — this is where we come in. We’re a small psychiatric practice with two experienced nurse practitioners who specialize in medication management for students. We take the time to understand what’s going on, explain things in plain language, and create a plan that fits your life — not just your symptoms. You deserve support that feels thoughtful, not rushed.
Do you often find yourself feeling overwhelmed, anxious, worried, or misunderstood? Maybe these are new struggles or something you’ve been dealing with for a while. Either way, I am glad you are here. I am a Harvard-trained licensed psychologist with expertise in evidence-based treatment for anxiety, depression, and emotional difficulties. I have been extensively trained in various evidence-based approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) for specific phobias and trauma. As a therapist, I am warm and supportive, and I strive to create a non-judgmental space where, together, we can explore what’s troubling you. My approach is grounded in emotion-focused CBT, helping you better understand your thoughts and emotions in various situations and what needs to change for you to feel better. Together, we can then help you make small, practical changes consistently in your life that can add up to feeling better and more empowered over time. If this sounds like it might be helpful, I invite you to reach out 15-minute consultation call where we can see if we might be a good fit. I look forward to meeting you!

I can help if you feel stuck, insecure or feeling like you are not “good enough”. I can help you build real confidence and emotional strength. You might find yourself constantly overthinking, comparing yourself to others, or feeling pulled in different directions. One part of you trying to move forward while another holds you back. As a fully bilingual (Spanish/English) Latino therapist, I understand how pressure, expectations, and life transitions can impact your confidence and sense of self. I specialize in trauma (EMDR), anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationships, and self-esteem. I integrate Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help you understand and work through internal conflicts, and EMDR to reprocess difficult or traumatic experiences. I also use solution-focused and cognitive-behavioral approaches to support practical, real-life change. My approach is supportive, collaborative, and tailored to your pace, while still helping you move toward meaningful change. If you feel ready to start working through this, feel free to reach out to schedule a consultation or an intake session with me.

While specializing in men's issues, anger management, and adolescent and college student populations, I also work individually with women dealing with anxiety, loss and relationship issues. With an emphasis on strengthening relationships and self-esteem, therapy is designed for people searching for a more balanced approach to working through change. I offer family therapy, have extended success connecting with male and female adolescence whose behaviors have been labeled oppositional or explosive, and work with parents/families who struggle with how to relate and communicate with their teenager and each other. Men's Issues/male and female adolescent populations and families work through challenges they have in expressing emotion, managing anger, and interpersonal communication. Men become comfortable with and learn the benefits of therapy rather than holding on to old stereotypes. I offer Sports Psychology consulting for men/women/teens. Client's gain insight, increase self-awareness, and find solutions. They learn coping skills, control emotional impulses, and learn relaxation from a therapist who has spent 15 years studying and practicing meditation. Afterward, I worked as an individual and group psychotherapist and clinical supervisor at the counseling center at Fordham University in the Bronx, NY. At Fordham, I was also the outreach coordinator in which I regularly interacted with marginalized students on campus. In addition to working as a psychotherapist, I worked at the Harvard Business School assisting with the organizational psychology course, “Authentic Leadership Development.”
