Therapists for college students near Cambridge, MA
College can be exciting, but it can also feel stressful, lonely, or uncertain at times. You might be figuring out who you are, how to manage everything on your plate, or how to feel more like yourself again. I’m here to help you through those moments. I work with students who are navigating anxiety, depression, identity and relationship questions, sleep or focus challenges, and the ups and downs of college life. My goal is to create a warm and supportive space where you can slow down, feel understood, and find your footing one step at a time.
As a mental health counselor, my goal is to create a safe, compassionate space where you can feel heard, understood, and supported. I believe that every person’s story is unique, and there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to healing or growth. My approach is collaborative and flexible to best suit my client's needs. I draw from a range of evidence-based methods, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based practices, person-centered therapy, and strengths-based techniques.
Our group psychotherapy practice offers help with anxiety, depression, relationships, sleep (including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia), eating disorders, body image, grief, addiction, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. Our clients tend to be people who are successful in many ways and feel overwhelmed, lost, alone, or in need of some self-esteem building. We particularly love working with college students because by nature they are figuring out who they are and want to be, and the work we do together can be such an important and exciting part of that process. We welcome people from all backgrounds and are LGBTQ+-affirming. Please feel free to reach out - we would love to get to know you!
Please note: I am only accepting referrals for waitlist. With nine years experience in the field, I specialize in working with adolescents and adults to treat a variety of needs, including mental health disorders, LGBTQ+ issues, family and relationship dynamics, and adjustment to life changes/stresses. I believe everyone has the potential for healing and growth that is personally meaningful to them. I have a grounded and positive attitude in sessions, and a collaborative and strengths-based therapeutic approach. I emphasize anti-oppressive practices, and I am a gender-affirming therapist with a passion and expertise for working with transgender, non-binary, and LGBQ+ communities. I use person-centered, narrative, and cognitive behavioral therapy interventions to provide personalized and integrative treatment for each client. I have extensive training and experience in working with trans clients, including support with gender dysphoria and providing assessment and documentation for gender-affirming medical care. Therapy is a partnership between client and therapist on a journey of healing and transformation. As your therapist, it is a privilege to support you in gaining insight and resolution to achieve the change you want within yourself, in your relationships, and in your life. I look forward to discussing how we can work together to achieve your goals.

Codi is a psychotherapist with experience working working adolescents and adults seeking support managing life changes. Codi practices from a relational, client centered approach. In addition to a B.A. in Feminist and Gender Studies from Colorado College, Codi holds a Masters of Social Work from Smith College School for Social Work. They come to APP with previous experience in access to higher education, direct service with incarcerated and formerly incarcerated people, and community mental health. Codi sees therapy as an opportunity for people to sit in the nuance of being human. They are eager to explore the space between therapist and client, centering my work in a psychodynamic approach. Their work is informed by a critical lens that helps clients examine systems and institutions of power and the roles those structure play in our suffering and healing. They are interested in creating a practice that can center the acknowledgment and influence of race, and other identities, in relationship. They hope to hold space for clients to explore, create and recreate themselves.

I have over 10 years of experience partnering with clients across the lifespan around issues such as grief & loss, addiction, LGBTQIA+ issues, anxiety,, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. Our weight-obsessed culture chastises and shames you, as though your body size is not only a personal moral failing, but a reliable indicator of poor health. Over time, you started internalizing this anti-fat bias, and often treat yourself with the same level of contempt. You either avoid seeking medical care altogether, or expose yourself to the risk of weight stigma (far more harmful than any presumed adverse effect of your weight itself). You forgot how to nourish yourself – sometimes forbidding yourself food, sometimes isolating in shame for a binge, sometimes "paying" via purge. But friend, you are meant to bloom - not shrink. I know this may be difficult to believe right now, but you are already lovely, wise, and worthy of much more in life. I’ll hold that thought for you as you relearn it, and we use it as the foundation of our work. From there, we’ll integrate cognitive behavioral strategies with EMDR to gain insights from the present to heal your old wounds once and for all. You deserve to fully enjoy, nourish, and be at peace with your body. Learn to better understand your thoughts and emotions, and stop wasting energy on what others think. Explore the root causes of the shame you've been taught, and work to move past it – your deepest self longs to be known. Call me now for your free consultation, and let’s get started today!
Whether you are at a crossroads in your life, feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or sensing your life is not what it could be, help is available. As helpers, we are committed to meeting you exactly where you are by using our collection of professional tools to assist you to reach your highest potential through connection to your “true” self, the part of you who is waiting to be rediscovered and made manifest. Our orientation as therapists combines our understanding of human development, psychology, and behavioral change with wisdom and practice that is woven through most spiritual traditions. You need not consider yourself a spiritual person, nor do we insist on a particular belief system. This is only to say that our orientation integrates this awareness as an element of healing. Our ultimate goal is to empower you to free yourself from the patterns that keep you from fully thriving and to help you create the life you want to be living. It is an act of courage, not weakness, to allow others to help you.
