You may be feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from yourself or others. Maybe you’re navigating a major transition, noticing old patterns that no longer serve you, or carrying the weight of difficult life experiences. Many of my clients are immigrants, first-generation individuals, members of LGBTQ+ community or those impacted by social and political uncertainty, seeking greater connection, support in difficult times, and self-understanding.
I have a masters in child development and experience as a social worker working in different part of the city with children, adults and adolescents. My approach to therapy is psychoanalytic. Are you interested in how your mind works? Do you want to understand your self better? Through understanding your own patterns of behavior and preconscious thoughts, we can work together to overcome whatever it is your struggling with, whether it be anxiety, depression or coping with academic stress. We can work together to help you make clear choices and identify goals for the future.
I offer culturally-responsive individual therapy for adults struggling with a range of concerns, including anxiety, stress, panic attacks, depression, disordered eating, substance misuse, self-esteem issues, relationship concerns, and life transitions. I am well-versed in working with individuals who identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ community, and provide an affirming space for all gender identities and sexual orientations. I offer in-person sessions at my office in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, as well as the option to meet virtually via HIPAA-compliant Telehealth services.

I take my work very seriously, which means that I strive to take myself very much not-seriously. Some sessions, you may need to cry. Some sessions you may need to laugh. This is a space for healing and growth. The most necessary ingredients for both of these things are warmth and play. My sessions can best be described as an abundance of warmth and play. I hold a Master of Applied Positive Psychology (MAPP) from University of Pennsylvania, which I obtained with a focus on positive sexuality and living your best sexual self. I hold a Master of Arts (MA) in Psychological Counseling and a Master of Education (EdM) in Mental Health Counseling from Columbia University, which I earned with a heavy emphasis on applying a social justice and multicultural lens to therapy. While at Columbia, I also received an Advanced Certificate in Sexuality, Women, and Gender with my focus on LGBTQQIA and open/polyamorous clients in therapy.
I am a licensed clinical psychologist with a wide range of experience that includes working with adolescents and adults experiencing psychological problems. I have a long standing commitment to the gold standard treatment for anxiety disorders, mood dysfunction, attentional difficulties, as well adjustment through early adulthood and college. If you find yourself constantly caught up in a cycle of overthinking & overachieving, seeking balance and centeredness in your life, I am here to help. Through therapy, we will explore strategies to calm the racing thoughts, ease the pressure of constant doing, and rediscover a sense of harmony within yourself. While we may not possess the ability to directly control our thoughts & feelings, we do hold the power to consciously choose our responses to these internal experiences. Together, we can navigate the challenges you face, while embracing laughter, acceptance, and an authentic connection that promotes growth & well-being. I specialize in treating OCD, anxiety, & perfectionism. I enjoy helping young adults navigate professional, social, & romantic challenges. Therapy should be tailored, not one-size-fits-all. That's why I adopt an integrative approach, drawing from the rich foundations of acceptance & commitment and cognitive-behavioral therapies for a comprehensive approach. Congratulations on starting this exciting journey of self-discovery! Whether you're well-versed in therapy or just starting out, my aim is to enhance your life & be a valuable support. The fact that you are here, tells me that you want to work on yourself. You want to see your truth, become stronger, and earn the ability to become self-reliant. Congratulations on taking these steps. You are one step closer to beginning your journey. I have been in the helping profession since 1987. My objective is to help people create positive changes in their lives. I provide a relaxed atmosphere, use modern clinical concepts, and work collaboratively with each individual, couple, or group. I encourage my clients to hone in on their strengths for their personal growth and transformation in order to bring in more love and satisfaction into their lives. My integrative and wholesome approach: I am also a Registered Drama Therapist (RDT), Certified Fitness Instructor, Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT), and a PAIRS-certified instructor (helping couples who are struggling with their relationships). With all of that, we would be working collaboratively using a wholesome approach. What this mean is, I integrate many of the well-known evidenced based practice modalities and theories, EMDR, as well as wellness and yoga principles (e.g. breathing, mindfulness, focus attention, awareness, etc.) within the framework of integrative social work and psychodynamic psychotherapy.
Psychotherapy is a co-created experience between the therapist and client. For over 20 years I have had the honor of working with people who feel stuck in their lives, whether it be their jobs, their relationships, or perhaps in some part of their identity. By bringing non-judgmental curiosity to our work together, it is my goal to create a safe and welcoming space within which we can explore the patterns of behavior that may not be serving their purpose anymore. I enjoy working with teens and adults, providing them with support to be their most authentic selves. My experience as a middle school counselor afforded me the opportunity to work with children and their families during an often very tumultuous time. It is there that I developed an interest in gender and sexuality development and I have worked with many families whose child has undergone a social transition regarding their gender identity. I consult with schools on how best to support children socially transitioning, and give workshops to teachers & professionals on how to create more inclusive classrooms. I also have extensive experience working with children with learning disabilities. In addition to my work as a clinical social worker, I am a sexuality educator and am pursuing a PhD.
