I am a psychotherapist in private practice in Manhattan. After finishing a Masters of Social Work at the University of Pennsylvania, I completed a four year post-graduate program at the William Alanson White Institute, a psychoanalytic institute in New York City. In my practice, I work with people who are experiencing a variety of concerns, including depression, anxiety and relationship difficulties. I also work with individuals who are interested in improving their understanding of themselves or an aspect of their lives, or who want to be better able to make choices that lead to a sense of fulfillment. My goal is to provide a warm and collaborative relationship in which these topics can be explored. I believe that a successful therapeutic relationship is based on trust and can help bring about growth and change. I offer clinical supervision to psychotherapists in private practice and as part of the William Alanson White Institute's Intensive Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Training Program. I am also an Associate Editor for the academic journal Contemporary Psychoanalysis.

Some days you’ve got it together. Other days, it feels like everything’s falling apart—classes, friendships, dating, or just trying to keep up. If stress, anxiety, or feeling down is making it tough to focus, connect with people, or feel like yourself, you’re not the only one. Therapy gives you space to talk it out—no pressure, no judgment—so you can figure out what’s really going on and start feeling more grounded and confident. I bring warmth, creativity, and a sense of humor into the room, because therapy doesn’t have to feel heavy all the time. If you’re ready to feel a little lighter—and a lot less alone—let’s get started.
Whether you're going through a difficult life transition, need to process painful or traumatic events, need help managing complex emotions, or want to strengthen your relationships with your family, friends, or yourself, I am here to collaborate with you to figure out the best path forward. Therapy illuminates the patterns we find ourselves in, and also provides ways of coping with the distress resulting from these patterns. Through understanding how our past and present circumstances affect us, we cultivate empathy for ourselves and those around us. I believe in the healing nature of a strong therapeutic relationship. I will work to facilitate growth in your natural areas of strength, while also deepening your understanding of what causes pain. My approach is collaborative and individualized, and includes Relational Psychodynamic techniques, metaphor, CBT techniques, and/or Mindfulness. I look forward to hearing from you, and to learn about how we can work together!
With nine years of experience as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) specializing in psychiatry and family health, I offer comprehensive and attentive care for children, adolescents, adults, and older adults navigating some of life's most challenging transitions. My areas of focus include ADHD, anxiety, depression and mood disorders, OCD, stress, and trauma and PTSD. No matter what you’re facing, I take a holistic approach to care, treating the whole person to address symptoms. My goal is to be the kind of provider who encourages mindfulness, coping skills, and stress management for you to be your optimal self. What grounds my work is a belief that good psychiatric care starts by knowing who a person is and what drives their individual goals. In practice, sessions are structured and purposeful while still leaving room for exploration. Drawing on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and solution-focused approaches, we'll explore your past and inner experiences while working toward the clarity that makes change possible. When medication is part of your care, I bring the same attention to detail to prescribing and management as I do to every other aspect of our work together. You can always expect an environment that feels serene and focused, a space where you're heard, your goals are centered, and the plan we build together reflects both your needs and your strengths. My path to becoming a PMHNP began with an innate ability to see patients holistically, as full human beings whose mental health is inseparable from every other part of their lives. This became a calling for me, fueled by the desire to bridge mental health care gaps and build meaningful long-term patient relationships. That same commitment comes with me into every appointment, allowing me to be a supportive psychiatric clinician who sees you fully and invests in your care. Exploring somewhere new, getting absorbed in a good book, and working through a strength training session are my favorite free-time activities, helping me find balance and energy.
I am a board-certified psychiatrist and psychotherapist in Manhattan. I am also a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medicine. I completed my adult psychiatry training at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medicine, where I was selected to serve as chief resident. As a social worker and psychotherapist with 8 years of experience, I offer collaborative, open, and nonjudgmental care for people interested in coming into deeper relationships with their full selves. I particularly enjoy working with caregivers, artists, neurodivergent individuals, LGBTQ+ folks, and creative people who are navigating questions about identity, relationships, and belonging. Many come to therapy burdened by beliefs that stem from systemic oppression, trauma, or early relational experiences. They may struggle with anxiety, self-doubt, dissociation, or the pressure to care for others at the expense of themselves. They’re looking for a space where they can slow down, tune-in, and make sense of their inner world. Their goals may include building more authentic relationships, developing greater self-compassion, and finding ways to live and create in a more full and embodied way. If this resonates with your search for greater mental wellness, please reach out today. I look forward to building a connection as your honest and participatory partner, embarking on this journey together through a systems-based and anti-oppressive lens tailored to your unique strengths and desires for change. I offer a therapeutic holding environment grounded in careful listening, curiosity, and the shared messiness and delight of being human. My work is relational and psychodynamic, meaning we explore how past and present relationships shape our emotional lives while working together toward deeper self-understanding, greater self-compassion, and more freedom in how you relate to yourself and others. Therapy with me makes room for opposites – we can acknowledge the patterns that helped you survive, and that they might be causing you difficulty right now. We can hold grief and hope in the same hour. And, we can move slowly and intentionally through these contradictions together. I am dedicated to bringing warmth, honesty, and a bit of humor into the room as we explore these patterns and emotions, including how they show up between us and in the words you choose. While we do this deeper work, I integrate Dialectal Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills to support you in concretely managing day-to-day challenges and holding the immense complexity this world has to offer us. My path to becoming a therapist began with providing home visits to LGBTQ+ older adults. In this work, I became familiar with the unique challenges and resiliencies that queer people and communities build over their lifespans. This experience deepened my commitment to providing open, nonjudgemental, and trauma-informed care. This is assured by listening with a careful presence that is affirming of kink, sex work, and polyamory in every session. In my free time, I love expressing my creative side through crafts like knitting and embroidery, reading, and cooking. I also enjoy spending time with my foster cats!

You can always come to me as a friend. I look forward to learning and growing with you together. Seeking care is a vulnerable experience, particularly during a season of life defined by constant transition. Whether you are navigating the acute pressures of a demanding program, processing a life-changing event, or grappling with an elusive sense of discontent while everyone else seems to have "figured it out," you don’t have to carry that weight in isolation. Much of our suffering derives from inner conflicts between different parts of ourselves: the part that feels driven to achieve versus the part that is profoundly exhausted; the part that seeks independence versus the part that still feels small and uncertain. Often, these tender parts stay hidden beneath the surface of academic rigor and social performance. In the high-pressure environment of college and graduate school, it is easy to feel siloed—locked within your own mind and the deepest, most quiet anxieties of your life. My approach offers you the freedom and flexibility to examine these various facets of yourself. Together, we will work toward a greater self-understanding that allows you to move through your studies and your life with a renewed sense of fulfillment and agency.

To achieve this, I take a strength-based, compassionate, and practical approach, allowing me to equip you with effective tools and skills to realize lasting mental wellness. I believe in the power of connection, collaboration, and evidence-based therapy, equipping me to be an effective and inspiring therapist. I look forward to walking alongside you as you build insight, resilience, and confidence in your journey to healing and achieving your goals. Having spent four years in the social work field, I saw first-hand how trauma impacts individuals and families, as well as how healing transforms lives. This diverse experience fueled my desire to become a therapist by deepening my passion to provide effective, empowering therapy that addresses the root causes of mental health struggles. I believe every person is capable of healing, which is why I bring empathy, curiosity, and genuine belief in each person’s potential to every session. When I'm not in the office, I’m most often spending time with friends or family. And when I’m not with loved ones, I enjoy being active – playing the piano, cooking, or discovering hidden gems in NYC!
I work with clients who experience trauma, whether it is childhood sexual, physical, or emotional abuse, or more recent traumatic events. You might wish to forget about it by not talking about it, but it often comes back and “haunts” you. The best way to deal with a “ghost” is to talk about it and take away its power over you. It is normal that you want to avoid it. However, the worst part of Trauma is that it continues. I would like to help you work through it, separate the past from the present so you can move on with your life. I am also very much interested in working on Women’s Issues, life transitions, anxiety, and depression. You might feel compelled to behave in certain ways, and you don't understand your thoughts, feelings, and actions. Together, we will explore what works for you and what doesn’t by listening and seeking understanding. I will help reflect on any parts you did not understand before. With more information about yourself, you will be able to make better choices. I partner with teens and adults to navigate the complexities of trauma, intimate partner violence, and self-harm. Together, we work to understand fear, anger, shame, guilt, and envy, these difficult and painful emotions, rebuild your self-esteem, and cultivate a sense of resilience. I am licensed in New York and New Jersey and offer both online therapy and in-person sessions at my office located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. I am fluent in both English and Mandarin
